At Loan.co.uk, we're building the technology that powers loan and insurance brokers across the UK. Our platform combines CRM functionality with broker-specific tools, alongside web and mobile applications that help people make better financial decisions. 

We're a 20-30 person tech team operating with a flat, collaborative structure where your ideas and technical judgment matter more than your job title. We work remotely, move fast, and believe that process should serve delivery, not the other way around.

What you'll be doing 

• Translating product vision into delivery reality - taking scope from the Chief Product Officer and turning it into shipped features 

• Working collaboratively with developers to design solutions, weighing technical trade-offs and guiding architectural decisions 

• Creating and managing tickets in our Kanban workflow, ensuring clear requirements and acceptance criteria 

• Making software judgment calls - understanding the implications of different approaches (like knowing when a webhook might work better than polling an API, for example) and being confident to challenge or support developer proposals 

• Owning delivery into production - coordinating releases, managing dependencies, and removing blockers 

• Providing feedback and managing your team's day-to-day (with HR support for formal processes) 

• Staying hands-on with problem-solving and troubleshooting throughout the delivery process • Keeping stakeholders informed without drowning them in process 

• Championing lean, pragmatic approaches that maximize delivery speed and quality 

• Leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and product capabilities 

What we're looking for
 

• Conceptual understanding of software - You grasp how software works at a fundamental level: how data moves between systems, how it's stored, how systems notify each other of changes. You understand what APIs, webhooks, databases, and frontend/backend architecture do conceptually, even if you can't code them yourself. This understanding lets you have meaningful conversations with developers and make informed decisions about how to build things.  

• Delivery track record - Proven experience shipping digital products, ideally in fintech, CRM, ERP, or multi-tenant SaaS environments  

• Hands-on mentality - You thrive on being directly involved in shaping the product, not just managing from a distance  

• Collaborative approach - You work with developers as peers, not as resources to be managed  

• Pragmatic mindset - You value outcomes over process, and know when to cut through ceremony  

• Self-sufficient - You can take a brief, run with it, and figure things out without constant oversight  

• Agile/Kanban experience - You've worked in iterative environments and understand lean delivery principles  

• AI-curious - You're open to using AI tools in your daily work and excited about incorporating AI into products (no prior AI experience needed)

This role is genuinely hands-on - you'll work directly with developers daily, make real decisions about how things are built, and see your work go live regularly. We're a lean team where everyone gets stuck in.
