Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Asurion is launching transformational direct-to-consumer bets over the next decade, from household device protection plans, segment specific products for seniors and SMBs, to a mass-market AI tech concierge.

We've built a multi-billion-dollar business through enterprise partnerships with the world's largest technology companies. Now we're going direct to consumers, and we need a partnerships leader who can unlock subscriber growth through creative and sometimes non-obvious distribution channels.

This is a rare opportunity to own D2C partnerships at a company with resources, distribution, and brand recognition but with the autonomy and impact of an early-stage startup. You'll be the quarterback for our entire D2C partnership growth strategy, from ideation to pilot to scale.

We're looking for someone who sees partnership opportunities everywhere and knows how to close them. Some examples include:

· Membership benefits: Partnering with corporate perk platforms (Perkspot, LifeMart), credit card programs, or directly with large employers

· Affinity partnerships: Working with AARP for seniors, gig economy platforms (Uber, Lyft, DoorDash), trucking companies.

· Buy-flow integrations: Integrating protection plans into secondary marketplaces

· Strategic co-marketing: Partnerships with brands that share our customer base but aren't competitive

The opportunities are endless. We need someone to figure out what's possible, prioritize ruthlessly, open doors, pilot fast, and scale what works.

ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS/DUTIES:

· Build the partnerships pipeline - Generate creative partnership ideas across embedded finance, employee benefits, affinity groups, and strategic distribution channels

· Prioritize strategically - Stack rank opportunities based on potential subscriber impact, deal complexity, and strategic fit; focus on highest-leverage partnerships

· Open doors and build relationships - Make in-roads with target partners; leverage your network (or ours) and persuasion skills to get to conversation.

· Structure and negotiate deals - Lead commercial discussions, negotiate terms, and structure win-win partnerships that drive subscriber growth

· Launch pilots rapidly - Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, marketing, and legal to stand up partnership pilots.

· Own the business case - Model partnership economics, forecast subscriber growth, and track performance against goals.

· Drive cross-functional execution - Quarterback internal teams to deliver on partnership commitments; be the glue between partners and internal stakeholders.

· Scale what works - Once partnerships prove out, build playbooks and scale programs 10x; hire against winning strategies.

· Build partnership infrastructure - Create processes, templates, and systems that enable faster deal velocity over time.

SKILLS:

· Partnership deal-making - Proven track record of closing partnerships that drove significant subscriber/user growth; can show specific deals and their business impact

· 0-to-1 builder - Experience creating partnership programs from scratch, from initial idea through pilot to scaled program

· Creative distribution thinking - Ability to identify non-obvious partnership opportunities across embedded finance, benefits, affinity groups, and platform integrations

· Cross-functional leadership - Drive execution across product, engineering, marketing, and legal teams without formal authority; quarterback complex initiatives

· Strategic prioritization - Evaluate dozens of opportunities and ruthlessly focus on highest-impact partnerships; know when to pilot, scale, or kill

· Relationship building and influence - Natural networker who opens doors, builds trust with senior stakeholders, and persuades both internal teams and external partners

· Bias for speed and scrappiness - Move fast to launch pilots in weeks not months; comfortable with ambiguity and building processes that don't exist yet

· Consumer subscription expertise - Deep understanding of partnership-led growth models, particularly in consumer tech, fintech, or subscription businesses

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Education and Experience

· Bachelor's degree required (preference for Business, Economics, or related field; technical degrees welcome)

· 7+ years in partnerships, business development, or strategic alliances at consumer technology companies

· Portfolio of 0-to-1 partnerships you can walk us through (what you built, how you closed it, what it achieved)

· Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and drive execution without formal authority

· > 11 Years

Preferred Education and Experience

· Background at companies with strong partnership-led growth (Affirm, Credit Karma, Bilt, Booking, Amazon Prime, DoorDash, Headspace/Calm).
