Contract Senior Graphic Designer, Event Design

Summary 

Our events agency is seeking Senior-level contract graphic designers to support individual event design projects as needed. Work is staffed project by project, and volume may ebb and flow depending on client demand. This is a client-facing role, working directly with clients as well as our internal account team throughout each engagement. 

We’re looking for seasoned designers who can step in as strategic, holistic partners - owning complete event and experiential design projects from concept through execution with minimal oversight. 

What You’ll Do 

Concept Development 

Develop initial look and feel presentations based on client briefs and event objectives, including: 

• Event logos and identities 
• Supporting design systems such as iconography, textures, patterns, and color palettes 

Design Translation 

Once concepts are approved, translate the design system across all event touchpoints and collateral, including: 

• Large-scale signage, directional materials, pre-trip and welcome packets, high-end product packaging, amenity cards, and other custom event essentials 
• Branding installations and large-scale environmental graphics 
• Digital graphics for use across web and mobile applications 

Client & Project Leadership 

Serve as the senior design lead on assigned projects - working directly with clients and our account team to manage feedback, timelines, budgets, and deliverables using our project management system.

Collaboration & Presentation 

Participate in project meetings, confidently present concepts to clients, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure alignment from concept through execution.

Project Types & Duration 

• Project-based contracts ranging from 2–10 weeks depending on event scope 
• Seasonal volume with potential for repeat and ongoing engagements 
• Rush projects available for designers comfortable working on tight timelines 

Experience & Skills 

• 6–8+ years of professional design experience, with demonstrated experience in event, experiential, or environmental design 
• Background designing for live events such as conferences, incentive programs, corporate meetings, or brand activations 
• Proven success in a client-facing, senior-level role, including presenting concepts and navigating feedback 
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) 
• Portfolio showcasing event collateral, environmental graphics, large-format signage, or experiential design work 
• Strong understanding of print production and large-format printing requirements 
• High degree of project ownership - comfortable serving as the primary designer from concept through execution 
• Strong organizational and project management skills; comfortable working within project management systems
