 What the Information Technology Department does at Worldwide 

  

The IT department is made up of seasoned professionals united in one common goal: to keep Worldwide’s technical infrastructure operating at the highest levels for our employees and our customers. We are a global team comprised of numerous professionals including cyber security, artificial intelligence, IT helpdesk, application support, and more. 

 

What you will do 

  • Lead the migration of SQL Server and PostgreSQL workloads to Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instances. 

  • Design, deploy, and support Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) offerings in Azure. 

  • Analyze and consolidate database instances to optimize performance, licensing, and cost.  

  • Implement Azure-native backup, replication, disaster recovery, and security configurations. 

What you will bring to the role 

  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure SQL, SQL Managed Instances, and related Azure data services.  

  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and database consolidation strategies.  

  • Experience in migrating legacy Unix/Linux-based databases to modern cloud environments.  

  • Familiarity with Azure automation, monitoring, and security tools.  

  • Ability to collaborate with development and infrastructure teams in a global environment.  

  • Experience with regulated data environments (GxP, HIPAA, GDPR) is a plus. 

Your experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of database engineering or DBA experience, or equivalent experience or high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 7 years of database engineering or DBA experience, or equivalent experience. 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Azure SQL or similar cloud database platforms.  

  • Demonstrated experience with database migration projects from on-premise to cloud.  

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., DP-300) are highly desirable.  

  • Willingness to participate in after-hours support and system maintenance
