Mid-Level Software Engineer

About the job

As a Mid-level Software Engineer, you’ll work on our in-house created package ‘Miles’, an ERP software for automotive finance, leasing, fleet, and mobility management. This end-to-end solution encompasses front-, mid-and back-office functions that can be extensively customized to the customers’ needs through configuration and custom development.   

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team containing other developers, business consultants, testers, covering our end-to-end business flow. This means you can rely on a very broad base of knowledge and expertise. Every team in Sofico works in an agile way, including scrum, daily stand-ups, and backlog refinement. Besides that, you’ll also be joining our development community which connects all the Software Engineers within Sofico worldwide. To learn from each other, by sharing best practices, codes, tips and tricks, is what we are striving for. The focus in this role will be on backend development. 

Being a Software Engineer at Sofico means that you will:  

• Work with Java 17. 
• Analyze code and create technical solution designs based on functional analysis. 
• Play an important role in building and rolling out solutions, both within the company and to our customers.  
• Either work on improving the current application, developing new modules, or implementing a customization project for one of the customers.  
• Confer with business consultants, analysts and testers about business needs, bugs, and so on. 

Your Skills and Interests

As a Software Engineer, it is also key to be able to keep the bigger picture in mind and how different elements are intertwined. Having a passion for developing and building solutions is at the top of our list. Problem-solving is one of your strongest abilities, and you do this in a methodical way. If you are a team player as well, you’re the perfect blend of soft skills.  

We would love to see the following aspects as well: 

• 5+ years of experience within a software engineering context.
• Experience with complex software solutions.
• Java 17, Java EE7, Java frameworks. 
• Knowledge of relational databases like Oracle, MSSQL, Postgres. 
• Experience with Microservices and monolithic architecture.
• Proactive mindset. 
• Business fluency in English
