Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Laboratory Technician to work with our Abrasive Systems Division R&D team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in conducting various tests and experiments to ensure the quality and performance of our abrasive products.
As a Laboratory Technician you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Performing a wide range of laboratory tests and experiments on industrial products, following established protocols and procedures
Operating, maintaining, and calibrating multiple pieces of equipment used in the preparation and testing of abrasive samples
Preparing and characterizing samples and resins using prescribed formulations and test methods while adhering to strict safety guidelines
Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data accurately and efficiently
Documenting and reporting test results, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during testing
Maintaining clean equipment and lab space for safe operation
Required:
At least 1 year working in a laboratory setting in a private, public, academic, government, or military environment.
Consistent, reliable transportation to this on-site job.
Preferred:
Strong technical and/or mechanical background
Experience with pilot or production manufacturing equipment
Familiarity with safe chemical handling practices
Hands-on, self-starter approach
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Comfort working with equipment user interfaces and Microsoft Excel
Good written and oral communication skills
Reliability and consistency
Education: Required:
High school diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Preferred:
Associate, Technical degree, or higher in a relevant science or engineering field (ex. Chemistry, materials science, or mechanical engineering)
Medical surveillance required: Hearing and Respirator
