Job description

Title: Senior Network Engineer
Location : Remote- preference for Montreal, Canada
Target Start Date : ASAP
Type: (C, CTH, D) Direct
Pay Rate / Salary (Ranges OK) : Based on experience and location- target $120-130k

Job Description : Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Senior Network Engineer's primary mandate is to ensure the continued operations, evolution, and enhancements of client's network infrastructure. The Senior Network Engineer will work with various stake holders to ensure the evolution of network systems is aligned to business requirements, participate in the planning and deployment of infrastructure projects, and ensure network systems are efficiently integrated into operations management.

Responsibilities:

▪ Design, build, and support network infrastructure according to business requirements.
▪ Participate in the design and implementation of IT infrastructure projects.
▪ Keep current with network technologies.
▪ Keep network documentation up to date.
▪ Network monitoring and troubleshooting.
▪ Capacity monitoring and reporting.
▪ Work with vendors and clients.
▪ Support technology audits.

Required Skills :

10+ years of experience in designing and supporting critical network infrastructure.
▪ Experience in critical operational environments.
▪ Experience in the financial industry.
▪ Ability to excel in a highly regulated and fast-paced environment.
▪ Fluency in both French and English (written and spoken) is required, as this role involves regular interaction with partners and stakeholders in both languages.
▪ Excellent knowledge of network and firewall technologies (Cisco, Arista, and Fortinet).
▪ Excellent understanding of TCP and multicast networks.
▪ Experience with low latency networks.
▪ Experience in designing and supporting network high availability solutions.
▪ Experience using BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and other routing protocols.
▪ Experience with packet sniffing applications (NetScout, Wireshark).
▪ Excellent troubleshooting skills.
▪ Ability to clearly document solutions.
▪ Ability to explain network architecture to non-technical stakeholders
