Roles & Responsibilities

  • 3-5+ years of customer-facing technical SaaS sales experience with medium to large enterprises.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or Technology Information (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences and influence C-level stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience delivering product demos and workshops, plus familiarity with cloud integration, CCM/MarCom automation, and enterprise SaaS technologies.

Requirements:

  • Lead technical sales engagements, including value-based demonstrations, use-case workshops, and tailored demos to ensure prospects understand Elixir's capabilities.
  • Conduct in-depth assessments of prospective customers' enterprise systems and design strategic roadmaps and business cases to maximize ROI, with activities tracked in CRM.
  • Collaborate with global sales, implementation, and product teams to address customer requirements, develop product demos/integrations, and tailor CCM workflow solutions.
  • Engage customers on-site and remotely in a consultative pre-sales role, maintain Salesforce metrics/KPIs, foster trusted-advisor relationships, and stay current on product roadmap and pricing.

The Sales Engineer plays a crucial role in the sales process by advising and collaborating with the Global Sales team to understand the needs of prospective customers, successfully lead and execute technical engagements during the sales cycle, project conceptualizations, and provide value-based demonstrations to close business. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with the ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences alike. This role will work cross functionally to identify new opportunities, present customized demonstrations, provide technical expertise, and effectively articulate the value of the Elixir product to potential customers.


Essential Functions

Under the general supervision of the Managing Director, Implementation, the essential functions include:

  • Lead technical sales engagements, including value-based demonstrations, product use case workshops, and tailored demos, ensuring the prospect fully understands the product's capabilities
  • Clearly communicate the unique value proposition of Elixir’s products compared to competitors, while staying informed on the latest roadmap updates and product releases
  • Conduct in-depth assessments of prospective customers' enterprise systems and design a strategic roadmap to an ideal future state, leveraging optimal product usage to maximize ROI
  • Collaborate with global sales, implementation, and product teams to address customer requirements and ensure alignment on solutions
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to showcase how Elixir can effectively address prospects' use cases and technical requirements, particularly in designing and automating their CCM workflows. Provide best practices throughout the sales process to ensure successful outcomes
  • Develop scripts, create use cases, and showcase new product features tailored to various market segments, regions, territories, verticals, customers, and partners
  • Work closely with the Product and Marketing teams to design, architect, and develop product demos and integrations that utilize Elixir and complementary technologies
  • Develop and present Business Case Justifications, technical proposals, and project concepts tailored to customer-specific needs. All tracked in CRM
  • Engage customers both on-site and remotely, providing consultative guidance during the pre-sales process 
  • Adhere to metrics and KPIs in Salesforce to measure performance against departmental goals 
  • Foster 'trusted advisor' relationships with prospects, serving as a reliable source of guidance 
  • Maintain a comprehensive grasp of Elixir's products, services, pricing, internal processes, and sales management mechanisms

  • Exhibit exceptional proficiency in both written and verbal communication, enabling seamless interaction with colleagues, clients, and executives
  • Demonstrate strong aptitude for presenting complex concepts, with the capacity to influence audiences at the C-level
  • Ability to collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including product management, product marketing, consulting services, and various internal and external stakeholders
  • Display a wide-ranging knowledge of discrete data sources, ETL processes, analytics, and cloud technologies
  • Demonstrate robust technical expertise in enterprise SaaS-based technologies, showcasing your ability to navigate and harness their potential as it related to customer scenarios
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, develop, and deliver product demos to customers, prospects and partners with predefined scripts and excellent engagement strategies
  • Hands-on Experience working with Cloud Integration products, CCM & MarCom automation technologies

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $110,000 to $130,000 per year. Actual compensation will depend on experience, skills, and work location. Candidates located near our Ojai, CA office may be considered at the higher end of the range.
