Provide technical applications of support as required to support internal/external customers as identified. Examples but not limited to; advise on programming techniques, tool improvements, identifying and applying proper tools by application and communication with global colleagues on technical challenges. Support field sales team by making technical calls to resolve customer issues and improve sales engineering technical knowledge. Provide on-going support to specific customers to improve overall relationship. Communicate with the team and provide appropriate feedback regarding changes or corrections to tool specifications. 

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 

·         Provide field-engineering support, involving advising on and discussing complex customer requirements and application of standard/special company products and designs. 

·         Suggest & apply modifications to existing or new specifications to simplify engineering and manufacturing. 

·         Work out mutually satisfactory adaptations to existing designs.  

·         Advise engineering department on designs and consult on methods of manufacture. 

·         Provide technical support to customers regarding the application or use of tooling. 

·         Provide technical assistance to sales by running demonstrations or tools during special or difficult applications. 

·         Assess returned warranty tooling and route for appropriate repair. 

·         Provide feedback to sales, engineering, and product management regarding performance of tooling run in the field and recommendations for improvement.   

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

·         High school diploma or equivalent. 

·         5 years’ experience working with cutting tool applications and metalworking.   

·         Knowledge of the Ceratizit product line. 

·         CAD/CAM experience is preferred, exposure to multiple systems a plus.   

·         Hands on knowledge & experience in CNC programming. 

·         Must be a self-starter; customer service oriented and be able to manage multiple projects. He/she must have the ability to solve problems and work independently.   

·         Competent computer skills.  Ability to use: Windows based software, (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access), Internet, and email communications. 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 

·         Must be willing and able to travel more than 50% of the time, including overnight stays.

·         International travel is required.

·         A valid U.S. driver’s license is required.

·         Must be a U.S. citizen.
