Roles & Responsibilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Server (2012-2022), Windows 10/11, Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS/DHCP management
  • Strong networking expertise (Layer 2/3, VLANs, TCP/IP, routing, firewall configurations) with experience on HP or Cisco switches and wireless access points
  • Hands-on cloud and virtualization experience (Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, Intune, VMware/Hyper-V)
  • Hotel systems integration knowledge (PMS like Opera, POS systems, IPTV, telephony, key card systems) with PCI DSS, RMM/MDR security, and backup solutions

Requirements:

  • Lead end-to-end IT design and deployment at hotel properties, including system design, network provisioning, server setup, and deployment of PMS, POS, and building management systems
  • Provision all network/server equipment, create IP subnets and VLANs, create firewall rules, set up server OS and management tools, and establish Microsoft 365 tenant and Entra domain; independently build local domain controllers, GPOs, and security policies; deploy ESP RMM and MDR tools via GPO or Intune
  • Deploy hotel systems (PMS, POS, key/card, Central Reservations, time clocks, revenue management, building management) and ensure integration with guest services
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation and network diagrams; ensure PCI DSS compliance and participate in disaster recovery planning and on-call rotation

Job description


Travel requirements: Approximately 75% travel to client sites across the U.S. within the hospitality industry. 

Travel typically consists of:

  • On-site travel 3 weeks per month
  • 1 week per month dedicated to administrative/project follow-up work
  • Travel to client sites Monday morning and return home Friday afternoon
  • Weekends off

Travel may be by air or car depending on location.


Working hours 

Typical working hours are M-F 8am – 5pm local time, after hours as needed to accommodate the client. 

They also participate in a rotating on-call schedule (holidays).    

 

Location requirements 

Central, US preferred.  

Must be located within an hour of a major airport.

You are reliable, savvy with logistics and have strong time management skills, being able to manage multiple projects efficiently to meet deadlines.  

 

You know how to:  

  • Meet with hotel contact and review project schedule and timeline. Advise on architecture best practices and creative designs to match hotel requirements.
  • Provision all network/server equipment (switches, WAP, Firewall, Servers, Backup Appliance, UPS’s, IP KVM, etc.) create all IP subnets and associated VLAN’s. Create Firewall rules for IPS, IDS, content filtering, access-lists. 
  • Setup server OS (Windows or VMWare) and management tools. 
  • Work with the project team to create Microsoft 365 tenant and Entra domain. 
  • Independently set up local domain controllers and build out local Windows domain. As part of this process, create GPO and security policies. 
  • Deploy ESP RMM and MDR tools though Windows GPO or Intune. 
  • Deploy hotel systems – PMS, POS, Key, Credit cards, Central Reservations, Time Clocks, Revenue Management, Building Management, etc. 
  • Create sophisticated documentation and network diagrams.


Experience with the following technologies is required:

  • Microsoft Server & Desktop Environments: Proficiency in Windows Server (2012–2022) and Windows 10/11, including Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and DNS/DHCP management.
  • Networking Expertise: Experience with Layer 2/3 networking, VLANs, TCP/IP, routing, and firewall configurations. Familiarity with HP or Cisco switches and wireless access points (WAPs).
  • Cloud & Virtualization: Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, Intune, and VMware/Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
  • Hotel Systems Integration: Knowledge of Property Management Systems (PMS) like Opera, Point of Sale (POS) systems, IPTV, telephony (PABX), and key card systems.setupmyhotel.com
  • Security & Compliance: Understanding of PCI DSS standards, endpoint security tools (RMM, MDR), and antivirus solutions.
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery: Experience with backup solutions such as Datto, Veeam, or similar, and familiarity with disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Technical Documentation: Ability to create detailed network diagrams, system configurations, and standard operating procedures using tools like Microsoft Visio.
  • Telephony & Unified Communications: Experience with VoIP systems, including configuration and troubleshooting of VLANs, QoS, and SIP protocols.
  • Hardware & Peripheral Support: Proficiency in setting up and maintaining hardware such as servers, workstations, printers, UPS units, and IP KVM switches.


One or more of the following certifications is highly desirable: CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or ITIL Foundations are highly desirable.

 

Pay and Benefits:    

This is a full-time position located in the United States and performed on-site with travel.  

Estimated Starting Salary/Wage Range: annualized, less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis (The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure [for existing employees] skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.  Note that the majority of individuals in the position will fall in the low to mid-level of this scale; the upper end of this pay scale is offered only in exceptional circumstances and/or for unusually qualified candidates.)
