Backend Integration Engineer (Java, REST/SOAP)

Our client is a leading global healthcare company is seeking an experienced Backend Interface Developer to support interface development, subsystem integration, and application lifecycle management within a complex enterprise healthcare landscape. The role will focus on backend software development, interface monitoring, regression testing, and technical documentation within an agile SCRUM environment.

This is a remote position, provided the candidate operates within a similar European time zone. This is a contractual role which will run through 2026. The candidate must be flexible to work in the client’s preferred time-zone, which is CEST.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and document backend interfaces and integrations
  
• Perform regression testing and support quality gates for interface validation
  
• Monitor interfaces and ensure operational stability
  
• Support data structure migrations and backend transformations
  
• Write automated tests and maintain testing frameworks
  
• Implement error handling, logging, and monitoring mechanisms
  
• Provide operational support and maintenance for interfaces/applications
  
• Contribute to agile SCRUM ceremonies and sprint deliverables
  
• Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation
