IT Support (Backup Administrator)

Join our team as an IT Support (Backup Administrator) professional and play a crucial role in safeguarding our company’s data. This remote position is perfect for someone with familiarity in backup management who is eager to grow in cloud and virtual environments.

What You'll Do:

• Administer and monitor backups for critical infrastructure, including servers, virtual machines, and cloud environments like Azure VM, on-prem servers, Hyper-V, VMware, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
  
• Identify and resolve backup failures or inconsistencies to ensure minimal downtime and data integrity.
  
• Conduct routine recovery tests to validate backups and ensure compliance with recovery time and recovery point objectives.
  
• Continuously assess and enhance backup strategies to improve performance and mitigate risks.
  
• Maintain detailed records of backup operations, troubleshooting steps, and best practices for internal documentation.
  
• Work independently to manage and refine backup processes while collaborating with the IT team on escalations.
  

Who You'll Work With:

You’ll be part of a dedicated IT team that ensures data security and reliability across various cloud and virtual platforms. Your role will directly contribute to the company’s data protection strategy, helping maintain business continuity.

Who We're Looking For:

• Experience: Familiarity with data backup, particularly in cloud and virtual environments like OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams.
  
• Backup Knowledge: Understands disaster recovery principles like the 3-2-1 backup rule and prioritizes protecting critical data.
  
• Problem-Solving: Detail-oriented and self-sufficient, with strong troubleshooting skills to proactively ensure backups run correctly.
  
• Communication: Able to document procedures clearly and collaborate effectively with the broader IT team.
  
• Certifications: Acronis Certified Engineer, Veeam or CommVault Certified Engineer, or CompTIA IT Fundamentals are a plus but not required.
