Roles & Responsibilities

  • At least 5 years of experience leading and managing M&A deals from origination to closure.
  • Proven sourcing capabilities with a retained network in target industry sectors.
  • Strong financial analysis skills, including ability to analyze balance sheets and P&L statements.
  • Ability to work autonomously as an independent contractor, remotely, with effective liaison to shareholders, IC in Japan, and due diligence resources.

Requirements:

  • Lead end-to-end M&A deals from origination and sourcing through to deal closure.
  • Leverage personal network to identify and screen US acquisition targets and opportunities.
  • Perform financial analysis (balance sheets, P&L) and coordinate due diligence with local firms and external resources.
  • Negotiate terms and close deals while liaising with shareholders, the IC in Japan, and due diligence teams.

Job description

This is a remote position.

An investment company based in Tokyo, Japan whose core business is to make acquisitions and investments globally to expand their group, is looking for an M&A professional in the US with a successful track record of completing deals within this area. They have the intention of acquiring & investing in companies in the US and are looking for a skilled, motivated and experienced individual within the M&A sector to work with them in creating successful opportunities and completing deals.

They are seeking someone able to work autonomously, who has extensive experience in leading and managing M&A deals from origination and sourcing through to deal closure. The following 3 areas are key:

1.      sourcing (includes the individual's retained network of contacts into industry sectors), 

2.      closing (negotiation skills),

3.      financial analysis (It is anticipated we will engage local firms for due diligence as required, however the individual will need to be able to analyze balance sheets, P&L statements, etc., and can liaise effectively with the shareholders of prospective companies, the IC in Japan, and due diligence resources engaged for each deal.  

(A minimum of 5 years’ experience of the above)



Requirements


- Workplace will be from home (for the time being)

- Starting position is as an independent contractor for an initial 12 months' period.

- Monday to Friday with daily working hours: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm (prescribed working hours: 8 hours, break: 1 hour)

- Holidays: National/Public/bank/etc. holidays

Benefits

- Remuneration will be $8,000 to $20,000 per month but actually be decided through interviews subject to experience and capability
