Roles & Responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate phonics lessons focused on foundational literacy skills; conduct engaging online classes using videos, songs, and games; use stories and visuals to teach letter recognition, sounds, blending and segmenting; provide differentiated instruction to meet diverse learners.
  • Encourage student participation and monitor progress through assessments; provide individualized feedback; address difficulties in letter-sound correspondence, blending and phonemic awareness; foster a positive virtual learning environment.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress; provide at-home reading activity recommendations; address parent queries promptly via email or meetings.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and performance records; prepare and share progress reports; collaborate with the curriculum team to enhance teaching materials; stay updated with current best practices in phonics education.

Job description

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Phonics Online Instructor to deliver interactive and engaging phonics lessons to children through virtual platforms. The instructor will guide young learners in mastering reading skills, letter-sound relationships, blending and decoding words. The ideal candidate will have experience in early childhood education and a love for fostering literacy skills in young minds.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lesson Planning & Delivery:
  • Develop age-appropriate phonics lessons focused on foundational literacy skills.
  • Conduct engaging and interactive online classes using tools such as videos, songs and games.
  • Use real-life examples, stories and visuals to teach letter recognition, sounds, blending and segmenting.
  • Provide differentiated instruction to meet the varying needs of learners.
2. Student Engagement & Monitoring:
  • Encourage student participation through quizzes, activities and games.
  • Monitor student progress through assessments and provide individualized feedback.
  • Address difficulties in letter-sound correspondence, blending and phonemic awareness.
  • Foster a fun and positive virtual learning environment to enhance motivation.
3. Parent Communication & Collaboration:
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress.
  • Provide recommendations for at-home reading activities and practice.
  • Address parent queries and concerns promptly through email or scheduled meetings.
4. Administrative Tasks:
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and performance.
  • Prepare and share progress reports at regular intervals.
  • Collaborate with the curriculum team to enhance teaching materials.
  • Stay updated with current best practices in phonics education.


Requirements

1. Education & Certifications:

  • Familiarity with tools like Zoom, Google Classroom, or MS Teams.
