This is a remote position.
SAE Institute is looking for a passionate and qualified Animator with a strong background in hand-drawn animation, fine arts and academics to teach and inspire young minds on our online platform.
Responsibilities:
· Facilitation in accordance with the learning outcomes as set for the SAE Animation programme, with a focus on practical application, theoretical frameworks, workflow and technique.
· Mentor students, conduct consultations and facilitate learning opportunities.
· Research relevant content in order to develop learning material and lesson plans.
· Evaluation, moderation, invigilation and assessment of learning.
· Keep accurate records of evidence (e.g. attendance, assessment results).
· Possess outstanding communication, interpersonal skills, administration skills, be highly organised and possess good time management skills.
· Collaborative and willing to work with fellow lecturers and the HOD to support students.
· Minimum NQF Level 9 qualification (Masters) in relevant field
· Experience in the field of animation and/or fine arts of a minimum of 2 years.
· Classroom management and workshop facilitation skills: A minimum of 2 years’ recent experience in an academic or training environment is preferred.
· Must be knowledgeable about traditional hand-drawn animation
· Must be knowledgeable about fine arts practices (drawing, painting, sculpting)
· Must be knowledgeable about art history
· Demonstrate knowledge and experience in the Adobe software suite, such as Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects
· Must have a body of work that demonstrates competency in fine arts and animation.
