L3 Systems and Cloud Engineer

This is a remote position.

• Technical Leadership and Escalations
  

• Serve as Level 3 escalation for complex infrastructure, cloud, and security incidents.
  
• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
  
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Level 1 and Level 2 engineers.
  
• Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
  

• Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering
  

• Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
  
• Architect and support hybrid infrastructures (on-premises and cloud).
  
• Manage virtualization platforms (VMware and Hyper-V).
  
• Design and maintain identity solutions (Azure AD, Entra ID, AD DS).
  
• Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
  

• MSP Client Delivery
  

• Work across multiple client environments with varying technologies and compliance requirements.
  
• Participate in client onboarding, infrastructure audits, and technology roadmaps.
  
• Act as a senior technical resource in client meetings and projects.
  
• Ensure SLAs, security standards, and best practices are met.
  

• Security and Compliance
  

• Implement and manage security solutions including MFA, Conditional Access, EDR/MDR, firewalls, and email security.
  
• Support compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, and Essential Eight.
  
• Conduct security assessments and remediation planning.
  

• Automation and Optimization
  

• Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell, Azure Automation, or RMM tools.
  
• Optimize performance, cost, and reliability of cloud and on-premises systems.
  
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools for MSP service improvement.

• PSA systems (ConnectWise Manage, Autotask)
  
• Backup solutions (Veeam, Datto, Azure Backup)
  
• EDR/MDR platforms (Defender, SentinelOne, CrowdStrike)
  

• Scripting and Automation
  

• PowerShell
  

• Five or more years in a Systems Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer role.
  
• Three or more years in an MSP environment.
  
• Proven experience supporting multi-tenant client environments.
  
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  

• Should be willing to accept a long-term work-from-home arrangement.
  
• Should be amenable to a permanent night shift schedule.
