Job description

This is a remote position.

Location: Fully Remote (EST or CST Time Zone) 
Type: Contract-to-Hire 
Compensation: $70,000 – $100,000 per year (based on experience and certifications) 

The Role 
This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a startup environment. You’ll take ownership of our accounting operations—managing day-to-day activities, improving processes, and providing insights that drive decision-making. You’ll report directly to the CEO and have the unique opportunity to build an accounting function from the ground up. 

What You’ll Do 
  • Manage AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger activities 
  • Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly financial reports 
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal policies 
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning with leadership 
  • Establish scalable accounting processes and systems 
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure financial accuracy and transparency 






Requirements

What We’re Looking For 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field 
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience 
  • CPA or other relevant certifications strongly preferred, but not required 
  • Experience in the MSP industry or a similar services-based business strongly preferred 
  • Proficiency in accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) 
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills 
  • Hands-on, proactive approach—you’re not afraid to dig into details
