System Analyst

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in IT support, systems administration, or infrastructure management.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (2012 R2 and above) and Windows desktop environments (Windows 7/10).
  • Basic experience with Active Directory, including user and group management and familiarity with Group Policy.

Requirements:

  • Provide support for physical and virtual desktops, servers, applications and data for current and future Helient on-premises and cloud-provisioned customers.
  • Support the ongoing operation and maintenance of production systems within the terms of customer contracted service level agreements.
  • Execute and assist with technical activities across networking infrastructure, directory services, Windows Server OS, virtualization, storage, and cloud services as required for system administration.
  • Utilize monitoring platforms and cloud tools (LogicMonitor, Auvik, Datto RMM; Azure, AWS, Office 365) to monitor, manage and support environments.

This is a remote position.

The System Analyst’s primary responsibilities include:
  • Support for physical and virtual desktops, servers, applications and data for current and future Helient on-premises and cloud-provisioned customers.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in IT support, systems administration, or infrastructure management.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (2012 R2 and above) and Windows desktop environments (Windows 7/10).
  • Basic experience with Active Directory, including user and group management and familiarity with Group Policy.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and basic routing concepts.
  • Exposure to virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with cloud services like Microsoft Azure, Office 365, or AWS.
  • Knowledge of storage concepts (SAN/NAS) and common protocols (iSCSI, NFS, CIFS).
  • Hands-on experience with desktop/laptop hardware and common business applications.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience supporting virtual desktops or published applications using Citrix or Remote Desktop Services.
  • Exposure to monitoring and RMM tools such as LogicMonitor, Auvik, or Datto.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, or IIS is a plus.
  • Knowledge of scripting tools like PowerShell is an advantage.

Other Requirements:
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

Availability for occasional after-hours or on-call support as needed.
