Who We Are:

Affinitas Education partners with schools to help them do what they do best: support students and educators. Behind every strong school community is a thoughtful, responsive people team — and that is where you come in. We are a collaborative, mission-driven organization that values relationships, integrity, and doing the right thing for people.

The Role

We are looking for an HR Manager who enjoys being a trusted partner to school leaders and staff. This role provides hands-on HR support while also leading HR initiatives and guiding school leaders across the U.S. and Canada. You will combine day-to-day HR operations with strategic oversight, ensuring consistency, compliance, and a positive employee experience across multiple locations. You will own HR processes for assigned schools, advise leadership on employee relations, and collaborate with the broader team to implement projects and improvements.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Serve as a go-to HR partner for assigned schools, supporting employees and leaders with day-to-day HR needs

  • Lead and manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and offboarding

  • Partner with school leaders on employee relations matters, providing practical guidance and solutions

  • Ensure HR practices are consistent, fair, and compliant across U.S. states and Canadian provinces

  • Coordinate onboarding activities, including background checks and offer letters

  • Assist employees with benefits questions, leaves of absence, and general HR inquiries

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR systems

  • Drive HR projects and process improvements to enhance efficiency and employee experience

  • Support benefits administration, leave management, and HR systems accuracy

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven ability to provide employee relations guidance and problem-solving in a multi-location or remote environment

  • Solid working knowledge of U.S. employment practices; experience with Canadian employment regulations is a strong plus

  • A people-first mindset with the ability to balance empathy, compliance, and practicality

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organization skills, with comfort working independently in a remote environment

  • Confidence handling sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism

  • Experience supporting a network of schools across time zones and with distributed teams

Why Affinitas Education?

  • Work that directly supports schools and educators

  • Opportunity to build relationships across diverse school communities

  • Remote work with meaningful, people-centered impact

  • Competitive compensation and benefits
