We are looking for an HR Manager who enjoys being a trusted partner to school leaders and staff. This role provides hands-on HR support while also leading HR initiatives and guiding school leaders across the U.S. and Canada. You will combine day-to-day HR operations with strategic oversight, ensuring consistency, compliance, and a positive employee experience across multiple locations. You will own HR processes for assigned schools, advise leadership on employee relations, and collaborate with the broader team to implement projects and improvements.
Serve as a go-to HR partner for assigned schools, supporting employees and leaders with day-to-day HR needs
Lead and manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and offboarding
Partner with school leaders on employee relations matters, providing practical guidance and solutions
Ensure HR practices are consistent, fair, and compliant across U.S. states and Canadian provinces
Coordinate onboarding activities, including background checks and offer letters
Assist employees with benefits questions, leaves of absence, and general HR inquiries
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR systems
Drive HR projects and process improvements to enhance efficiency and employee experience
Support benefits administration, leave management, and HR systems accuracy
Proven ability to provide employee relations guidance and problem-solving in a multi-location or remote environment
Solid working knowledge of U.S. employment practices; experience with Canadian employment regulations is a strong plus
A people-first mindset with the ability to balance empathy, compliance, and practicality
Strong leadership, communication, and organization skills, with comfort working independently in a remote environment
Confidence handling sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism
Experience supporting a network of schools across time zones and with distributed teams

Five or more years of HR experience, including HR generalist and/or management experience in a multi-site or growing organization
Bachelors degree
HR certification such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or a Canadian equivalent is a plus
Experience in school environments a plus
Must be fully authorized to work in the USA or Canada
