Role Overview


We’re looking for a driven Area Sales Manager to take ownership of our Midlands / North London territory and deliver profitable growth.

In this field-based role, you’ll develop existing accounts, win new business and maximise sales across the full OX product range. You’ll manage your territory strategically, maintaining strong customer relationships, executing promotions and new product launches, and achieving monthly and annual targets.

Key Responsibilities


  • Maintain & develop customer sales of all OX product categories within the territory to maximise the sales potential at profitable gross margin returns to achieve the territory’s annual budget.
  • Manage the territory to achieve monthly/quarterly & annual budget objectives, whilst maintaining adequate coverage/servicing to meet customer expectations.
  • Meet daily KPIs by maintaining a regular call cycle for the existing customer base, whilst continually seeking new business opportunities within the territory.
  • Support and present National and Key Account initiatives to applicable customers to achieve growth expectations as requested by the National Sales/Key/Account/ Manager.
  • Daily utilization of CRM systems, namely Salesforce and Sales-I, to continually research customer sales & product data. Provide regular customer reporting to maximise “Live the Trade”  growth opportunities.
  • Prepare range quotations with proactive customer call initiatives prior to the next call cycle.
  • Continually develop strategies to ensure cost-effective calls are completed.
  • Present OX promotional activity to ensure growth in sales & shelf space increases at all customer outlets.
  • Quarterly objectives to be foremost in mind at every call during the weekly/monthly call cycle.
  • New product introduction to be presented regularly at day-to-day calls, with quarterly objectives to be achieved.
  • Attend breakfast mornings, trade evenings & schedule regular in-store training programs with counter staff & end users.
  • Planned, effective resource management of Merchandisers, Trade Show and Product Management support.
  • Constant review of opportunities to add OX merchandising display stands to the current & new customer base in accordance with daily KPI.
  • Attend regular review, sales and workshop meetings.
  • Prepare weekly & monthly sales forecasts to ensure budget is achieved.
  • Complete daily customer report & email to the customer service operating team for recording.
  • Travel expenses to be maintained & completed within the guidelines provided. Expensify and HMRC compliant.
  • Fully support, present and apply Global & National Marketing initiatives to maximise OX Brand marketplace exposure.
  • Grow and develop OX social media exposure in line with company guidelines.
  • Good Housekeeping and maintenance of all company property e.g. car, phone, laptop & samples etc


KPI’s:


  • Successfully execute sales strategies to achieve monthly & annual sales targets
  • Develop & maintain strong customer relationships to protect OX market share
  • Continually seek new business opportunities to grow the OX Brand
  • Attend and actively contribute in regular Review, Sales and Workshop meetings
  • Update CRM system daily and maintain all reporting requirements as required


Skills/Experience


  • A proficient level of basic education
  • Field sales experience – it would be advantageous if this was within the construction industry, but this is not a requirement
  • Account management experience and a demonstrable track record of sales ability
  • First-class communication skills, written and verbal, as well as the ability to communicate clearly with both internal and external stakeholders
  • A full driving licence allowing you to drive
  • A passport, as travel out of the normal base location may occasionally be required
  • People-oriented and results-driven
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • Effective relationship building, networking and influencing skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to identify, analyse and develop effective solutions to problems

Compensation£45,000 - £55,000 DOE
