Job description

A strong functional consultant must possess deep knowledge across key NetSuite modules:

Design to Build & Manufacturing: Expertise in NetSuite item master setup, including understanding and correctly configuring item types (e.g., assembly, non-inventory, services, kit, group) and their impact on financials. This includes proficiency in Bill of Materials (BOM) creation, revisions, linking BOMs to assembly items, and handling complex manufacturing concepts like phantom items and nested work orders.

Inventory Management: The ability to configure and manage inventory features such as lot numbering, serialization, unit of measure conversions, reorder points, and processing inventory adjustments and transfers between locations.

Procure to Pay (P2P): Detailed knowledge of vendor setup, including financial terms, taxable status, and managing purchase order (PO) lifecycles through creation, item receipt, vendor billing (invoicing), and approval workflows. This also includes understanding three-way matching processes.

Order to Cash (O2C): Competence in managing the customer lifecycle from lead/prospect (if applicable) to customer status. This covers creating and modifying sales orders (SOs), managing pricing levels, configuring billing schedules (especially for milestone/progress billing), fulfillment processing, and generating customer invoices.

Record to Report (R2R): Expertise in setting up and maintaining the chart of accounts (COA) structure and segment definitions (department, location, class). This also includes experience with period close processes, making journal entries, budgeting, and bank reconciliation using bank feeds.

2. Technical Configuration and Data Management Skills

The consultant must be able to move beyond standard configuration and handle system setup tasks:

Customization and Workflow: The ability to customize forms and transactions, such as adjusting the PO form, adding custom fields (e.g., for pack slip numbers or BOL), configuring approval workflows for POs and SOs based on monetary thresholds or roles.

Data Migration and Management: Familiarity with the data import process (often via CSV) for master data like customers, vendors, items, and fixed assets. The ability to organize data and provide necessary templates (e.g., for trial balances, open transactions, or fixed assets). Support post migration data validation.

Banking and Payment Setup: Specific skills in configuring electronic funds transfer (EFT) and ACH payment methods, including collecting and securing banking details, linking GL accounts to bank feeds, and generating necessary bank files (like NACHA files).

Reporting & Analytics: Capability to customize and create robust reports and saved searches (database-like inquiries) for detailed project cost tracking, income statements, balance sheets, and budget versus actual analysis.

3. Strategic Process Design and Guidance

The consultant should act as a process architect, especially for complex IWS/KLA requirements:

Complex Flow Modeling: Ability to design and implement custom transaction flows, such as utilizing multiple $0-value sales orders to manage cost accumulation, inventory transfer (relief from stock), and Work-In-Progress (WIP) accounting for outsourced manufacturing.

Third-Party Integration Knowledge: Awareness of external system integrations, notably Salesforce (for pre-sales activities) and external project management and scheduling software (P6).

End-User Training and Support: The commitment to guide the client team through complex transactions, explain functionality, conduct walkthroughs (CRPs), and assist the team in preparing and executing UAT test cases
