QA Automation Engineer

The Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of Dynatron’s SaaS platforms. In this role, you will own and evolve automated and manual testing strategies across web applications and APIs, partnering closely with Engineering, Product, and Delivery teams.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role with influence across the development lifecycle. You’ll help define testing standards, improve release confidence, and ensure quality is built into the product, not added at the end. The ideal candidate brings strong automation expertise, solid manual testing fundamentals, and the communication skills needed to collaborate effectively across teams.

Because Dynatron does not have a physical office in India, this position will be structured as an Independent Contractor role.

• No taxes will be deducted by Dynatron (contractor is responsible for compliance).
• No health insurance or employee benefits are provided.
• India Gazetted Holidays and 24 days of PTO are included as part of the contract.

5. Complete a technical assessment; successful candidates may be asked to discuss their solution in a follow-up interview.
6. Participate in Round 2 Technical Interview, also between 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM Eastern Time (USA).

Hours of Collaboration

You must be available during core collaboration hours with the US team:

• 6:30 PM – 11:30 PM IST
• 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM EST (USA)
• 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM CST (USA)
• 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM MST (USA)
• 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM PST (USA)

An additional 3 flexible hours per day can be worked outside of core hours based on your preference.

What You’ll Do

Quality Strategy & Automation

• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for Web UI and APIs using tools such as Selenium, Postman, REST Assured, JMeter, or equivalent frameworks.
• Support and evolve an automation strategy that exercises real end-user workflows and enables regression, performance, and load testing.
• Evaluate and introduce new testing tools and frameworks where appropriate.

Manual Testing & Test Design

• Perform manual testing as needed based on project scope and release timelines.
• Create clear, comprehensive test plans and test cases aligned to product and system requirements.
• Participate in peer reviews to ensure test coverage, quality, and consistency.

Agile Collaboration & Delivery

• Actively participate in requirement, design, and defect review sessions with Engineering, Product, and Project Management.
• Provide early input on testability, risk, and QA effort during planning and design phases.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to improve release processes and quality outcomes.

Defect Management & Reporting

• Analyze test results, identify root causes, and work closely with developers to resolve defects.
• Track, report, and communicate test results, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders and leadership.
• Provide clear status updates on assigned initiatives and release readiness.

Systems, Data & Environment Testing

• Test systems involving SQL-based databases, APIs, and integrations; write and troubleshoot SQL queries as needed.
• Coordinate and manage testing environments in alignment with project timelines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the Product Development Lifecycle and Agile practices.

What You Bring

QA & Automation Experience

• 6+ years of experience as a QA Automation Engineer, with strong foundations in both automated and manual testing.
• Hands-on experience testing web applications and APIs using tools such as Selenium, Postman, REST Assured, JMeter, or similar.
• Experience with unit, regression, performance, stress, and load testing strategies.
• Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and change management practices.

Technical Skills

• Experience testing systems built with .NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, and JSON.
• 3+ years of experience testing databases, including writing and troubleshooting SQL queries.
• Ability to troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and recommend practical solutions.
