Position Overview
The Field Sales Manager – Rhode Island is the account and consumer-facing representative for Two Roads Brewing Company in Rhode Island. The primary objective of this role is to increase sales and distribution by identifying new opportunities, expanding existing accounts, and executing in-market initiatives in collaboration with distributor partners.
This role is responsible for representing the Two Roads brand through account education, distributor engagement, events, samplings, and other consumer-facing activities throughout the Rhode Island market.
Residency Requirement
This position requires the employee to reside within Rhode Island or within a reasonable commuting distance to ensure effective territory coverage, regular market presence, and responsiveness to distributor and account needs.
Working Relationships
The Field Sales Manager – Rhode Island works independently and in close collaboration with assigned wholesalers to identify, develop, and execute business opportunities. This role reports directly to the Territory or Regional Sales Manager and collaborates with Sales Leadership, the Chain Team, Marketing, and Logistics.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Wholesaler Interaction and In-Market Execution
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key wholesaler supervisors and sales representatives.
- Understand brand programming and communicate priorities clearly to wholesaler partners.
- Work with wholesaler brand managers and sales representatives to promote sales, brand awareness, and consumption.
- Provide wholesalers with upcoming event schedules and activation plans.
- Participate in wholesaler work-withs throughout the Rhode Island territory.
- Build and expand account base by targeting new or non-buying accounts.
- Create target lists and collect data to build efficient and effective sales routes.
- Develop positive relationships with key accounts across the territory to foster growth.
- Identify and communicate chain opportunities to the Chain Team.
- Ensure proper merchandising and brand standards at retail.
- Achieve planned sales, distribution, and execution goals.
- Utilize VIP retail data to identify opportunities and track progress against goals.
- Conduct waitstaff and bartender education sessions.
- Host retailers and wholesalers at the brewery as needed.
- Coordinate social media and promotional activities in collaboration with Marketing.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Lead by example in professionalism, accountability, and brand representation.
Consumer Interaction
- Serve as the direct representative of the brewery to consumers within the Rhode Island territory.
- Plan, organize, and represent the brewery at public events and festivals.
- Plan and execute on-premise events focused on strengthening account relationships.
- Conduct off-premise tastings to support accounts and engage directly with consumers.
Reporting, Budgets, and Fiscal Responsibility
- Provide accurate and timely market feedback to management, including pricing, promotions, sales trends, competitive activity, and recommended action plans.
- Submit weekly reports summarizing prior-week activity and outlining plans for the upcoming week.
- Utilize Lilypad for retail account tracking, planning, and execution.
- Conduct weekly recaps and pre-planning for future objectives.
- Manage assigned sales and tactical budgets responsibly.
- Manage travel and expense spending to maximize effectiveness.
- Complete all administrative responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner.
