Roles & Responsibilities

At least 3 years of direct Australian tax and accounting experience (GST, BAS, PAYG)

Bookkeeper – BAS Specialist
Remote| Philippines | Full-Time
Php 60,000 – Php 80,000/month
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM QLD (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM PHT)

What You’ll Be Owning

This is a core production role where you will manage a dedicated list of bookkeeping clients. Your success is measured by how "audit-ready" your files are when they reach the review stage. You’ll take the lead on:

The BAS Scramble: Leading the charge 4 times a year to process approximately 300 Activity Statements within our 7-week cycle.
Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Coding in Hubdoc, pushing to Xero, reconciling bank feeds, and managing Xero bills.
Payroll Stewardship: Preparing and filing payroll, including Single Touch Payroll (STP) and Superannuation.
Proactive Client Triage: Identifying missing information early in the month and chasing clients with professional, supportive persistence.
Workpaper Preparation: Building accurate workpapers including wages and PAYG installments to a review-ready standard.
System Championing: Acting as the "go-to" for Xero and potentially leading our CAS 360/ASIC secretarial support.

Requirements

his Role Is a Great Fit If You:

HAVE DIRECT AU EXPERIENCE: You have at least 3 years of experience working specifically with Australian tax and accounting (GST, BAS, PAYG).
ARE A XERO CHAMPION: You are extremely proficient in Xero, Hubdoc, and Xero Bills.
ARE AN "AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER": You can handle the high-volume pressure of a BAS deadline without letting details slip.
COMMUNICATE WITH CLARITY: You have a professional, fresh, and presentable "on-camera" presence with clear English communication skills.
ARE ADAPTABLE: You can navigate different client styles—from those with perfect digital records to those who are more manual.

Bonus Points If You:

Have experience with FYI Docs.
Have used CAS 360 for ASIC/Corporate Secretarial tasks (huge plus!).
Have worked in an Australian "BPO" or "Outsourcing" environment supporting an accounting firm.

Hours, Pay, and Stability

Full-Time: 40 hours per week.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Australian Business Hours.
Salary: Php 60,000 – Php 85,000 net per month (based on experience).
Stability: This is a permanent role with a consistent workload—even outside of BAS season, you will support year-end financials and admin.

After 60–90 days:

The "Smash" is Real: You’ve successfully navigated your first BAS cycle, getting through your allocated list ahead of the 7-week deadline.
Proactive Triage: You are identifying missing client data before the quarter ends, reducing the end-of-period scramble.
Trust Established: The Senior Accountants trust your workpapers to the point where "review" becomes a quick verification rather than a rewrite.
