Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field

Requirements:

  • Provide analytical support for connected commerce initiatives (Shopper Marketing, digital shelf, Retail Media) leveraging various data sources; develop and maintain dashboards and scorecards tracking online and offline KPIs (share of search, digital shelf availability, pricing, content compliance, conversion)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights that drive omnichannel growth strategies for CPG clients and create client-facing presentations synthesizing complex data into clear narratives
  • Ensure data integrity across multiple platforms and tools, including syndicated data, retailer portals, and digital shelf analytics platforms (e.g., Circana, NielsenIQ, Skai, Commerce IQ)
  • Partner with internal BI and data engineering teams to enhance automation and scalability of reporting solutions; stay updated on retailer digital strategies and emerging eCommerce trends to identify opportunities and risks

Job description

Data Specialist

As a Data Specialist at Omni Channel Solutions, your role is essential in driving data-backed decisions that optimize our clients’ omnichannel performance across digital and in-store environments. You are responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data from multiple sources to support Shopper Marketing, Retail Media, and Connected Commerce initiatives.

Your insights will guide category reviews, new item launches, assortment and shelving recommendations, and campaign scorecards. By combining analytical rigor with business acumen, you will help our clients understand shopper behavior and identify opportunities for growth within the fast-evolving retail ecosystem.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—sales, marketing, shopper insights, and eCommerce operations—to deliver actionable insights that inform strategy and execution. Your ability to translate complex data into clear, visual narratives will directly contribute to improving our clients’ brand visibility, conversion rates, and overall marketplace performance.


DAILY DELIVERABLES

  • Provide analytical support for connected commerce initiatives, including Shopper Marketing, digital  shelf, Retail Media and Managed leveraging a variety of CPG, retailer, and digital data sources. 

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and scorecards that track online and offline KPIs, including share of search, digital shelf availability, pricing, content compliance, and conversion metrics. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, marketing, shopper insights) to deliver actionable insights that drive omnichannel growth strategies for CPG clients. 

  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across multiple platforms and tools, including syndicated data, retailer portals, and digital shelf analytics platforms (e.g., Circana, NielsenIQ, Skai, Commerce IQ.). 

  • Support the creation of client-facing presentations that synthesize complex data into compelling narratives, highlighting opportunities to optimize connected commerce performance. 

  • Stay current on retailer digital strategies, emerging commerce trends, and client-specific KPIs to proactively identify growth opportunities and risks. 

  • Partner with internal BI and data engineering teams to enhance automation and scalability of reporting solutions. 

  • Stay updated on retailer digital strategies, emerging eCommerce trends, and competitive benchmarks to proactively identify new business opportunities.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field.

  • 1–3 years of experience in analytics, category management, eCommerce, or shopper insights—preferably in the CPG or retail industry.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas) and PowerPoint; experience with Power BI or other visualization tools is a strong plus.

  • Familiarity with syndicated data sources (NielsenIQ, Circana), retailer POS data, and digital shelf analytics tools.

  • Basic understanding of category management, retail media performance, and omnichannel shopper behavior.

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present data clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

  • Collaborative, proactive, and results-driven work ethic.


PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS (A PLUS)

  • NielsenIQ / Circana Training or Certification

  • Power BI or Data Analytics Certification

  • Google Analytics or Google Marketing Platform

  • Retail Media Platform Certifications (Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, CitrusAd, etc.)

  • CommerceIQ, Skai, or ChannelAdvisor Platform Training
