We are seeking an experienced Payments Product Architect to join the Versapay product management team. This role will be responsible for creating intelligence experiences on our platforms that serve our customers, their customers and Versapay employees
The Payments Solution Architect is central to Versapay; It sits at the heart of our primary purpose, to enable AR Flow. This role is responsible for the secure, efficient, and fast movement of money across our payment partner network, through our back end, and ultimately to our partners.
The Payments Solution Architect has a deep strategic and operational understanding of the payments market and brings that expertise to bear as a deep technical expert, ultimately responsible for designing business solutions that fuel the payments business in invoice to cash. You’ll work directly with vertical Product Managers and Engineering to design and implement future state payments architecture, own the payment provider strategy, and act as a market-facing expert in support of our partners and Customers.
This role is designed to drive change and bring outside in perspective, which means that a great candidate remains effective while being flexible and agile. You’ll use your intellectual curiosity, passion for product and bias toward action to steer strategy.
What you'll do:Serve as an internal expert on the payments systemsPartner on the payment’s product strategyUnlock opportunities for Versapays customers with payments partnersCreate reference architectural designs and custom solutions that develop and employ our payments platforms in ways that uplevel and inform while delivering on Customer/partner needs Assess partners and vendors for customer needs and product roadmapDemonstrate a deep understanding of internal invoice to cash and payments applications, articulating designs that create a compounding platform value for our users. Lead forward-looking design and investment in those to evolve those platformsUse that understanding to write detailed requirements and lead the execution of payments platform initiativesReview partner and vendor API documentation and functional specs to translate to the Versapay ecosystemAct as a trusted advisor to Product Management, Engineering, and external teams on complex solution design and implementation best practices.Work directly with Customers and partners to guide design decisions, to develop creative technical solutions, and to lead execution of those solutionsEducate our product and engineering teams on market trends and strongly influence the product roadmapBe outside in: Serve as an internal “voice of the Customer” and provide critical insights into market trends, technologies, and money movement trends.What you'll bring to the team:8+ years in business payments product or strategy experience 5+ years working with cross functional teams as a technical product owner in an agile development processPossess deep analysis thinking and proven ability to interpret information to inform decision-makingFintech and identity vendor partner experiencesDeep expertise on the payment rail systems and messaging systems Knowledge of machine learning models & credit decisioning frameworksKnowledge of API specifications, file formats and messaging systems Operate in a complex cross-functional environment, leading and influencing others, ultimately resulting in timely tactical decision-making to advance our objectivesAbility to connect to databases to inspect/change dataExcellent communication skills to articulate complex payments operations, flows and data concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong ability to present to C-level leadership and managing stakeholders.“Builder” Mentality: Entrepreneurial and scrappy mindset. Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments with a track record of defining and executing net new initiatives. A desire to solve problems with no obvious path forward.
