Roles & Responsibilities

  • Undergraduate degree in business with excellent academic performance; master's degree from a top-tier school is a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience in business development, lead generation, or outbound sales (B2B or M&A preferred) with a proven cold-calling/outbound prospecting track record.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional demeanor, and ability to present to owners and C-level executives; fluency in English.
  • Strong analytical skills, sound business judgment, ability to manage a pipeline and consistently exceed outreach targets; familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Source and nurture acquisition targets by creatively identifying leads for vertical market software, building and maintaining a proprietary industry contacts database, and running prospecting campaigns via digital media, outbound calls, emails, meetings, and events.
  • Conduct direct outreach to owners, operators, and C-suite executives, navigate gatekeepers, and initiate compelling conversations to qualify opportunities.
  • Present high-potential opportunities to the M&A team and support progression to NDA or deeper evaluation.
  • Travel up to 20% to attend tradeshows, prospecting trips, and in-person meetings.

Reporting into the Senior Manager of Corporate Development, the Business Development Associate will be responsible for representing the front-end of Vencora's acquisition activities—establishing contacts, building, and nurturing relationships with CEOs and owners of global companies. Our focus is to build a strong portfolio of businesses that are specialists in their own market.

Job Description:

What You Will Be Doing

You will drive our acquisition activities of sourcing and nurturing target companies by:

  • Creatively identifying leads for vertical market software businesses meeting our strategic criteria and specific metrics
  • Maintaining and building a proprietary database of industry contacts
  • Developing and conducting prospecting campaigns through digital media, outbound cold calling, email sequences, in-person meetings, and industry events
  • Consistently making direct outreach to business owners and executives, confidently navigating gatekeepers, and initiating compelling conversations
  • Demonstrating creativity, persistence, and credibility in reaching out to Owners, Operators, and C-Suite leadership
  • Gathering target company information and qualifying opportunities for potential acquisition
  • Presenting high-potential opportunities to the internal M&A team and supporting progression to NDA or deeper evaluation
  • Traveling to attend tradeshows, prospecting trips, and in-person meetings as needed (up to 20%)

  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent academic performance in an undergraduate business degree. A master’s degree from a top-tier school is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Fluency in English is necessary
  • Demonstrated success with cold calling and outbound prospecting—you are confident initiating conversations with founders and C-level executives and know how to get past gatekeepers
  • 4+ years of experience in a business development, lead generation, or outbound sales role, ideally in a B2B or M&A environment
  • Ability to manage a pipeline of leads and consistently exceed outreach and engagement targets
  • Confident in presenting to business owners and executive-level stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and sound business judgment
  • Experience in M&A, software, or fintech is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus
  • Professional demeanor, excellent time management, and a persistent, independent work ethic
  • Collaborative spirit with the ability to work across remote teams and cultural backgrounds
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%
