SAP BW Developer (f/m/x)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with finance business users to understand their Financial Reporting needs, KPIs, and data analysis requirements.  
• Design and implement robust, scalable data models in SAP BW using HANA objects (e.g., ADSOs, Composite Providers, InfoObjects, HANA Views) that accurately represent financial data structures and business logic.
• Develop and manage ETL processes to extract financial data from various source systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, non-SAP sources), apply necessary transformations (using ABAP routines), and load it into BW.
• Developing custom ABAP objects like Start, End, and Expert routines within BW Transformations to perform complex data manipulations, calculations, or validations, especially for financial-specific rules and mappings.
• Extracting financial data from the SAP S/4HANA Universal Journal (ACDOCA) using modern extraction methods, such as ABAP Core Data Services (CDS) views.
• Create and optimize BW BEx querie & BO Webi reports. Building efficient BW Queries (the modern name for BEx Queries) to provide aggregated and detailed financial data for end-user reporting.
• Develop, and publish various financial reports and interactive dashboards using BusinessObjects tools (Web Intelligence) or SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
• Analyze and optimize the performance of BW data loads, queries, and BO reports to ensure fast and efficient access to critical financial information.
• Monitoring data load times, optimizing query execution plans using transaction RSRT, and configuring database-level settings for performance improvement.
• Creating, scheduling, and monitoring process chains, managing delta loads for finance data, and implementing error handling for data load failures.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation for data models, ETL processes, reports, and security configurations, and provide training to end-users or support teams.

Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Science or an IT-related discipline (or equivalent)
• 5-8+years of development experience across SAP BO & BW
• Serve as a technical expert for SAP BO reports, providing end-user training, and documenting technical specifications.
• Proficiency in the SAP BusinessObjects BI Suite, including Web Intelligence (WebI), Crystal Reports, and Information Design Tool (IDT). Experience in BO platform upgrade & CMC
• Working experience with Finance industry is preferred Good communication and team player
• Experience in Agile delivery as a squad member
