Roles & Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of basic cable technology, materials, processes, design, cost, and product development.
  • Ability to drive process and design improvements for cost reduction and to develop new cable technologies.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving skills for cable design and new product development.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and familiarity with standard office software.

Requirements:

  • Provide technical expertise to develop/design new products and applications, and to maintain/improve existing products across applications; interface with cross-functional departments to capture requirements.
  • Develop innovative products, improve cost efficiency, deliver DTC results, and maintain the cable design system; define group cable design principles and participate in standard committee activities.
  • Analyze customers' technical requirements and propose how the organization's products/services can meet these needs; provide technical advice to the sales team to develop and implement solutions aligned with market trends.
  • Lead and develop the R&D team, coordinate medium-term development projects across country/corporate resources, improve sustainability in design/development/manufacturing, and ensure HSE compliance.

Job description

You will join China R&D Team and base in Suzhou , your main responsibilities are:

  • Provide technical expertise on developing/ designing new products and applications,  maintaining and improving existing products for different applications.   
  • Develop innovative products and keep improving Prysmian NP Vitality figures, to achieve the technical leading position and support business growth.    
  • Keep improving products cost and deliver DTC results.         
  • Responsible for involvement with requirements specification and interface with cross-functional departments to complete these tasks. Support operation on technical solution providing to streamline the process. 
  • Develop and maintain cable design (CA) system and define the Group cable design principles and methodologies, being involve and contribute on standard committee activities.
  • Analyze customers’ technical requirements and provide proposals outlining how the organization’s products and services can meet these needs. Provide technical advice to the sales team to develop, sell, and successfully implement product or service solutions that will meet market trend.
  • Keep improving the team management, build a strong, professional and sustainable R&D team for the business.       
  • Responsible for the medium term development projects coordinating country/ corporate resources       
  • Respond to more complex customer questions and troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve technical problems that arise during or after implementation.   
  • Responsible for improving sustainability on product design, development and manufacturing, to support the Group ESG ambition.      
  • Understand, accept and comply with the related HSE responsibility commitment as part of daily work.       
  • Other tasks assigned by the Chief Engineer

  • Communicate with other department with high efficiency result with good team working
  • Skill to solve problem with good result, especially for cable design and new products development
  • Familiar with office software
  • Be good at reading, writing, listening and speaking in English
