Creative Director β€” Market Access (Art Side)


Remote (US) |10-15% travel

Our client is a small, fast-growing creative agency focused on pharma market access and value messaging. The agency works closely with internal consulting partners to turn strategy into clear, compliant, content-driven creative across channels.

This role exists because the work has grown in volume and complexity. The team is seeking a Creative Director who can own the work, lead a small team, and stay close to execution.

THE ROLE

Youll lead creative direction and execution while managing and mentoring a lean team. Youll be accountable for the quality of the work, how it gets done, and how it lands with clients.

Youll work hand in hand with the Managing Director and directly with consultants who own strategy and typically lead the client relationship, translating strategic thinking into clear, effective creative.

This role sits inside a highly resourceful and successful consulting environment that operates differently than most. The focus is not on billing more hoursβ€”its on doing better, more strategic work that delivers value.

This role carries direct responsibility for creative execution and quality, alongside team leadership. It is not a purely conceptual or managerial position.

TEAM STRUCTURE & GROWTH

The current creative structure includes two Art Directors, dedicated Project Management support, and outside partners for copy, medical, digital, and video. As Creative Director, youll lead within this model while helping shape what comes next.

Over time, these capabilities will be brought in-house. Youll play an active role in defining roles, hiring full-time talent, and building the future creative team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead creative development and execution across digital, print, and presentation deliverables
  • Set and maintain clear creative standards; ensure work is strong, clear, compliant, and on point
  • Stay hands-on with concepting, design review, and refinement
  • Act as creative lead on select client accounts
  • Partner closely with consulting leads who drive strategy and client relationships
  • Work effectively within pharma regulatory requirements (MLR, ISI, fair balance)
  • Collaborate with project and operations teams to manage timelines, resourcing, and delivery
  • Support business development with practical creative input and pitch support
  • Help grow the agency team, including hiring and managing freelancers or external partners

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

  • The ability to partner with the President to work hand in hand to drive the business from a strategic and tactical – executional perspective.
  • Strong hands-on design skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, PowerPoint)
  • Confident creative judgment and the ability to give direct, useful feedback
  • Comfortable shifting between strategic thinking and execution
  • Client-facing, organized, reliable, and collaborative
  • Experience leading creative work in regulated pharmaceutical environments

EXPERIENCE

  • Senior-level experience leading creative work within an agency environment
  • Proven leadership of creative teams in
  • Direct experience in market access creative work
  • Agency and pharma experience required
  • Experience working in small or growing agency environments
  • Experience managing freelancers or external partners

COMPENSATION

Base salary range: $150,000 – $195,000 depending on experience

Incentive / bonus structure included- 15 to 20%
