Introduction:

This role will be within the Infrastructure Solutions Delivery (ISD) organization at GlobalFoundries IT. The ISD organization's primary focus is on building, developing, and delivering infrastructure that effectively addresses business requirements and opportunities, while ensuring a robust, sustainable, and standardized platform for Operations to manage. 

Your Job: 

• Ensure all IT solutions follow agreed architectural methodologies. 

• Manage business requirements, contain development costs, and reduce the time to delivery. 

• Ensure the quality and security of IT Infrastructure platforms. 

• Deploy stable and flexible IT infrastructure enabling easy maintenance and updates for future demand. 

• Ensure infrastructure reliability by design, including disaster recovery capabilities. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Automation: Utilize Aria automation tools and scripts to streamline repetitive tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce administrative overhead.

• Configuration Management - Post deployment automation / configuration / package installation automation.

• Design and Architecture: Develop and maintain the architecture and design of the VMWare infrastructure, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements. 

• Implementation: Install, configure, and manage VMWare environments (VMware Cloud Foundation). 

• Security: Implement and maintain security best practices within the automated provisioning process.

• Backup and Recovery: Assist in the creation of Backup and Recovery practices 

• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, including network, storage, and application teams, to ensure seamless integration and support of the VMWare environment. 

• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the VMWare infrastructure, including design diagrams, configuration settings, and operational procedures. 

• Continuous Improvement: Stay current with the latest advancements in VMWare technologies and Aria automation, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the virtual infrastructure. 

Required Qualifications 

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 

• Experience with DevOps tools and methodologies, such as CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, Ansible, etc. 

• Proven experience in Unix and Windows system administration, with a focus on virtualized infrastructure provisioning using VMWare. 

• Experience with automation tools and Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform. 

• Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols. 

Preferred Skillsets:

• Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. 

• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
