  • Strong SQL coding skills: complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and scripts; data manipulation, transformation, and performance optimization; experience with query tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Database administration experience: architecture, indexing, backups, recovery; user access control, performance monitoring, and maintenance tasks; familiarity with on-premises and cloud databases.
  • Reporting and data insights: design and develop reports using SQL and tools (SSRS, Power BI); translate business requirements into actionable insights; experience with scheduled reporting, data validation, and visualization.
  • Education and experience: High School Diploma or GED; minimum 6 years of relevant experience.

  • Responsible for the software lifecycle from design to delivery, creating software to assist users; implements code and documents changes based on assignments and timelines; adheres to coding and UI guidelines.
  • Provides code reviews, testing, debugging, technical documentation, and go-live planning, moves, and post-live support.
  • Communicates progress, roadblocks, and issues to the team and management in a timely manner; collaborates with team members to identify and resolve issues, improve system performance, and ensure code quality.

Job Summary:

Reviews, analyzes, modifies, creates, debugs, and tests applications using modern development methodologies and tools. Collaborates with the team and other teams to assist in design and application architecture discussions, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical requirements.

This posting reflects an opening for an Application Developer II and we are seeking candidates for that position. Geisinger reserves the right to consider applicants for higher levels of this role to include an Application Developer III and Application Developer IV based on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the process, life cycle, and creation of the software to assist users in completing a computer task or program.
  • Implements code and documents all system changes based on assignments and timelines.
  • Follows department coding and user interface guidelines.
  • Provides code review, testing, debugging, technical documentation, general testing instructions, assistance in go-live planning, assistance in go-live moves, and post-live support.
  • Communicates all progress, roadblocks, and issues to the team and management in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with team members to identify and resolve issues, improve system performance, and ensure code quality.
