Therefore, we are looking for an Advanced Electrical Engineer for our space systems department to become part of this journey and contribute to our overall purpose – securing people through advanced technology.

 

Your role in our team

 

As our new Advanced Electrical Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Terma Space Systems team. You will work in a complex and highly technical environment, developing a deep understanding of a wide-ranging technical domain. Your role will involve designing space power system architectures while collaborating with multiple stakeholders, and meeting customer requirements to ensure the best possible solutions. You will build strong multidisciplinary expertise across areas such as thermal design, EMC, and mechanical considerations. and apply this knowledge to design reliable, efficient, and compliant power solutions that meet the strict requirements for space applications.

We are a pioneer in the Danish space industry and have been developing advanced space hardware solutions for more than 50 years. We provide mission critical hardware products for both scientific and commercial satellites to the high-quality standards.

We are based in both Lystrup and Søborg, Denmark, where 55 employees work with the development and testing of space electronics in a very collaborative and informal environment. The team includes technicians, engineers and physicists in full range from newly graduated to senior employees.

 

How you will make a meaningful contribution

 

Your key responsibilities include:

    • Taking ownership of projects, focusing on architectural design of satellite power systems and handling requirement specifications
    • Contributing to technical proposals and engaging in technical negotiations with customers
    • Capturing schematics, supervising Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout, and selecting and evaluating components
    • Creating simulations and system models to validate designs and ensure performance
    • Writing, reviewing, and maintaining technical documentation, providing feedback to improve designs
    • Continuously improving and strengthening design approaches to ensure reliability, efficiency, and compliance with requirements

 

Bring your world class expertise into play

 

You are fluent in English both in writing and verbal at a professional level. Danish is an advantage but not a requirement. Moreover, we are also looking for a new colleague with the following qualifications:

    • Power Electronics & Circuit Design: Extensive experience designing, testing, and documenting power electronics and DC/DC converters in the 1 W–10 kW range. Strong knowledge of fundamental circuits and components (R-L-C, BJTs, MOSFETs, capacitors, resistors, etc.) with the ability to read, understand, and create complex schematics. Talent for creating new circuits using elementary parts.
    • System Engineering & Requirements Management: Hands-on experience with system engineering, requirement management, and working according to procedures. Comfortable interacting with customers and contributing to technical documentation.
    • Design, Simulation & Modelling: Skilled in electrical schematics capture, PCB layout supervision, and design verification. Experience in electrical modelling of switching components, magnetics, and thermal behavior, including thermal modelling and validation of designs. Strong understanding of EMC requirements and testing.
    • Specialized Skills: Knowledge of magnetics design, analog electronics, and switching components. Proven ability to develop, test, and debug advanced power electronics solutions.
    • Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in power electronics, analog electronics, or a related field.

 

Experience with one or more of the following is preferred but not a requirement:

    • Space or high-reliability production environments
    • OrCAD suite, including PCB Editor, PSpice, and OrCAD Capture
