Responsibilities

  • Prepare students for all AP exam components (oral, written, multiple-choice) with practice exams and detailed feedback in an engaging online environment.
  • Monitor student progress through quizzes and assessments, and maintain ongoing communication with students and parents regarding performance and development.
  • Manage technical and administrative tasks, including using Zoom/LMS for class delivery, and maintaining accurate attendance and records.

Job description

This is a remote position.

We are looking for an experienced AP Spanish Online Instructor to deliver high-quality virtual classes that prepare high school students for the Advanced Placement (AP) Spanish Language and Culture exam. The instructor will create engaging lesson plans focused on language fluency, cultural knowledge and exam strategies. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Spanish language instruction and familiarity with the AP curriculum requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Lesson Planning & Instruction:
  • Design and deliver lessons aligned with the AP Spanish Language and Culture curriculum.
  • Teach vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, essay writing, listening and speaking skills in Spanish.
  • Provide cultural context relevant to the AP Spanish exam, including literature, history and modern cultural elements.
  • Integrate multimedia and authentic resources (articles, videos and recordings) for immersive learning.
Student Engagement & Exam Preparation:
  • Prepare students for all aspects of the AP exam (oral, written and multiple-choice sections).
  • Conduct practice exams and provide detailed feedback on strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Create an interactive and supportive online learning environment to boost confidence and motivation.
  • Offer individual and group activities to reinforce key concepts and foster collaborative learning.
Progress Monitoring & Communication:
  • Track and report student progress through quizzes, assignments and regular assessments.
  • Maintain clear, ongoing communication with students and parents regarding performance and areas for development.
  • Share study strategies, time management tips and self-assessment tools to help students succeed.
Technical & Administrative Tasks:
  • Use online tools (Zoom or LMS platforms) effectively for lesson delivery.
  • Maintain accurate student records, attendance and assessment data.
  • Address any technical issues students encounter with online platforms or resources.


Requirements

Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Teaching certification in Spanish and familiarity with AP Spanish standards.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching Spanish, with prior experience teaching AP Spanish highly preferred.
  • Experience with online teaching platforms and creating a virtual classroom environment.
Skills:
  • Native or near-native fluency in Spanish with an excellent understanding of Spanish grammar and culture.
  • Strong familiarity with AP exam requirements, scoring criteria, and exam strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and motivational skills.
  • Proficiency with technology tools used in virtual classrooms (Zoom, whiteboards).
Technical Requirements:
  • Stable high-speed internet connection, a computer with a webcam, and a quality microphone.
  • Comfortable using online teaching tools and learning management systems (LMS).
