CEO & Co-Founder - Clean Water Technology Venture

To be eligible you should have experience in business development within industrial waste water treatment and/or water sensor deployment. You will need to be based in the Netherlands.

The world urgently needs innovations to reach net-zero and circularity yet too many breakthrough technologies never make it beyond the lab. BigCircle Ventures changes that. We identify high-impact DeepTech innovations and transform them into successful startups that tackle the world’s biggest climate and sustainability challenges.

One of our most promising projects is a revolutionary sensing technology for real-time detection of pollutants in water. The innovation enables affordable, compact, and scalable monitoring of pesticides, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers and heavy metals. It’s already at a late development stage and ready to disrupt the global water treatment and industrial monitoring markets.

We are looking for a CEO & Co-Founder to lead this venture from incorporation to commercial success.

The Opportunity

You’ll be joining at the founding stage to turn a proven technology into a thriving business that supports clean, sustainable water systems worldwide. As CEO, you’ll drive fundraising, partnerships and go-to-market strategy supported by BigCircle’s venture-building ecosystem of experts.

What You’ll Do

• Fundraise with purpose: Secure and manage funding across innovation and growth stages.
  
• Build and scale: Develop an international go-to-market strategy and shape a business model that accelerates adoption.
  
• Lead with impact: Build and inspire high-performing teams, bridging science, innovation and commercial value.
  
• Collaborate: Engage with industrial partners, regulators and early customers across Europe.
  

Requirements

• Proven experience in business development within industrial wastewater treatment and/or water sensor technologies.
  
• Understanding of water treatment markets, regulatory frameworks and emerging trends.
  
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to turn innovation into real-world impact.
  
• Strong leadership, communication and network-building abilities.
  
• Technical literacy (background in engineering or science is a plus).
  
• Based in or willing to relocate to the Netherlands; available at least 3 days per week (full-time preferred).
