We're seeking a talented Ruby Developer to join our engineering team and help build scalable, maintainable applications that power our core business operations. You'll work on challenging problems involving automation, integrations, and backend systems that directly impact our clients' success.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Ruby-based applications and services with clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Write comprehensive tests (RSpec, Minitest) to ensure code quality and reliability
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
- Debug and resolve production issues with quick turnaround times
- Integrate third-party APIs and services into existing systems
- Optimize application performance and database queries
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience with Ruby development
- Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails framework
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and writing efficient SQL queries
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Proficiency with Git version control and collaborative development workflows
- Experience with RESTful API design and implementation
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with background job processing (Sidekiq, Resque, Delayed Job)
- Knowledge of Ruby testing frameworks (RSpec, Capybara, FactoryBot)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Contributions to open-source Ruby projects
- Knowledge of other languages/frameworks (Python, Node.js, Go)
- Experience with API integration platforms (Workato, Zapier, Make)
