Responsibilities

  • Independently audit technical and content aspects of client websites to identify crawlability and AI citability gaps.
  • Create detailed SEO/AEO work plans and roadmaps with hourly estimates.
  • Execute full lifecycle implementation: technical SEO improvements, AEO schema and structured data, and WordPress/Elementor optimization, including on-page natural language optimization for featured snippets.
  • Produce high-quality reports measuring rankings, traffic, and qualitative AI sentiment; coordinate with Creative, Development, and Business Development teams and communicate blockers promptly.

Job description

Qualified Leads is a digital marketing agency focused on lead generation with clients in New Zealand, Australia, Europe, and North America. We are hiring an SEO & AEO Specialist to provide the technical and strategic backbone for our digital growth initiatives. This role is focused on ensuring our clients dominate both traditional search engines (SEO) and the emerging world of AI-driven "Answer Engines" (AEO).

This is a hands-on, execution-heavy role ideal for someone who thrives on deep technical work and structured strategy. Unlike traditional agency roles, this position is non-client-facing, allowing you to immerse yourself in the technical performance of 5-6 key accounts. You will be responsible for independent auditing, strategic planning, and full-scale implementation within WordPress and Elementor environments.

  • Independent Auditing: Conduct comprehensive technical and content audits of websites and brand footprints to identify gaps in crawlability and AI "citability."

  • Strategic Planning: Prepare detailed SEO/AEO work plans and roadmaps, broken down into actionable tasks with precise hourly estimates.

  • Full-Scale Implementation: Execute the full lifecycle of the strategy, including:

    • Technical SEO: Optimising site architecture, core web vitals, and mobile-first performance.

    • AEO & Schema: Implementing advanced structured data and entity-based optimisations to ensure AI models (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) accurately parse and cite client data.

    • WordPress/Elementor Management: Directly managing and optimising landing pages and site structures within our preferred tech stack.

      • On-Page & Natural Language Optimisation: Formatting content for "featured snippets" and natural language queries.

      • Analysis and Reporting: Produce high-quality, slide-based reports for Account Managers. You must measure impact through both quantitative data (rankings, traffic) and qualitative insights (brand sentiment in AI responses).

      • Operational Support: Coordinate with our Creative, Development, and Business Development teams to ensure SEO/AEO best practices are integrated across all channels.

      • Communicate Proactively: Clearly communicate status updates, ask clarifying questions, and raise blockers early via Zoom and internal systems.

       

Required Experience and Skills

  • WordPress & Elementor Expert: You must be highly proficient in building and optimising within WordPress and Elementor.

  • AEO & AI Search Literacy: Deep understanding of how LLMs and Answer Engines retrieve information and a passion for staying ahead of AI search trends.

  • Technical SEO Mastery: Proven experience with technical site audits, indexation management, and site performance optimisation.

  • Strategic & Process-Driven: You prefer structure and are comfortable preparing work plans broken down by the hour.

  • Detail-Oriented: You focus wholeheartedly on the finer details of technical audits and data accuracy.

  • Strong Communicator: Fluent in English (written and spoken), with a proactive approach to communication.
