Job Title: Product Research & Development Specialist
Location: Remote
Job Type: Part-time (May transition to a full-time setup in the future)

About:

Our Client is a growing e-commerce brand passionate about bringing innovative and high-quality kitchenware to everyday cooks. As they expand, they're looking for a part-time Product Research & Development Specialist (1020 hours per week) with proven experience in the kitchenware niche. This role may evolve into a full-time position as we scale.

Role Overview:

You will be dedicated to studying competitors and the kitchenware market to recommend what products we should add, improve, or innovate. This includes monitoring competitor catalogs, pricing, packaging, and launches to identify opportunities. The ideal candidate should already be familiar with the kitchenware industry, knows the key trends, understands what customers look for, and can spot gaps in the market. Experience working directly with suppliers and manufacturers in the kitchen niche is a big plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct ongoing competitor analysis within the kitchenware category (pricing, features, bestsellers, bundles, promotions).

  • Source new kitchenware products based on market needs and new trends.

  • Research market and consumer trends to identify new kitchenware opportunities.

  • Suggest innovations or improvements for existing products.

  • Prepare detailed research reports and recommendations for product launches.

  • (Preferred) Collaborate with suppliers: source new products, negotiate MOQs, and manage costs.

  • Stay updated on materials, designs, and food safety compliance standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the kitchenware or home & kitchen niche (product research, development, category management, or sourcing).

  • Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to turn insights into recommendations.

  • Familiarity with e-commerce (Amazon, Shopify, or other marketplaces).

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a part-time capacity.

Bonus Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with supplier negotiations and sourcing from manufacturers.

  • Understanding of kitchenware design trends (ergonomics, durability, eco-friendly materials, etc.).
