Job description

Location: Milan

Work Mode: Hybrid (75% on-site)

Travel: This position involves travel within the EMEA region, the UK, and occasionally to the US

We are currently seeking an Application Engineer for a client operating in the aerospace industry.

The successful candidate will work closely with sales representatives and the product management team to support customer needs and projects.

Key Requirement:

  • Proven experience in embedded software engineering, particularly in HMI development and related standards.

The role involves addressing and resolving customer issues within the aerospace sector by implementing the company's product solutions. Understanding both the technical and business requirements of clients will be essential for success.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical contact and trusted advisor for customers, offering expertise on the companys solutions.
  • Collect and relay market insights to the Product Management team for the HMI line.
  • Assess customer needs, analyze their requirements, and develop tailored solutions using the companys HMI products.
  • Prepare and deliver custom demonstrations and presentations aligned with customer requirements.
  • Provide on-site support to clients and occasional consulting services.
  • Manage customer accounts using all available resources to address the product lifecycle effectively.
  • Develop and execute account strategies with the account manager to expand market share.
  • Represent the company at industry events and seminars.

Required Skills:

  • Strong project management abilities.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in software development and solution architecture.
  • Expertise in HMI or graphics programming.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C or C++.
  • High level of English proficiency, both written and spoken, suitable for professional business interactions.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in technical pre-sales support.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of safety-critical software development standards (e.g., DO-178C / ED-12C).
  • Experience with Python and Ada programming languages.
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS).

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field.
