Requirements:

  • Provide comprehensive quality patient care to children and adolescents, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, according to standards of practice
  • Collaborate with other providers in the department and refer patients to consultants for confirmation of diagnosis and treatment when appropriate
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement and peer review activities
  • Maintain timely, thorough, and accurate written clinical documentation and be proficient with electronic health records and other computer systems

Staff Pediatrician

Hartford, Connecticut

Full Time or Part Time Position

Department: Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine

Although clinical experience is preferable, recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.

We are seeking a Staff Pediatrician, to join our Department of Pediatrics. The incumbent will deliver comprehensive quality patient care, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions according to standards of practice to children and adolescents. The levels of employees' engagement and satisfaction in this department are above national average.

The Pediatrician will provide health care in collaboration with other providers in the department. The incumbent may refer patients to consultants for confirmation of diagnosis and treatment procedures as appropriate. The incumbent will also participate in departmental quality improvement and peer review activities.

The successful candidate will:

Be a graduate of an accredited school of medicine

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics

Possess valid State of Connecticut licensure and have or be eligible to obtain DEA and state narcotic registration

Be willing and able to deliver high quality patient care in an efficient manner

Be willing and able to provide culturally competent care to a diverse patient population with complex needs in a collaborative environment.

Have a track record of proven success communicating effectively with patients, peers, and other stakeholders both orally and in writing.

Have demonstrated ability to maintain timely, thorough and accurate written clinical documentation

Be able to make evidence-based clinical decisions and comply with department and organizational quality measures

Be comfortable using electronic health record and other computer systems

Possess a resourceful, problem-solving attitude and an appropriate level of accountability

Be willing to perform other duties as assigned
