Job Description – Senior Accountant

Position: Senior Accountant
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
Perform reconciliations of accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
Supervise junior accountants and provide guidance on complex accounting matters.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and financial planning.
Provide management with accurate and timely financial analysis and recommendations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CA preferred).
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar) and MS Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
