Roles & Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of the privileging process and healthcare credentialing standards.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare credentialing or Medical Staff Office setting; 1+ years preferred.
  • Experience working with databases and creating/manipulating spreadsheets; proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and communicate clearly with staff and management.

Requirements:

  • Ensure new hires start timely by coordinating with onboarding specialists and hospital/office locations.
  • Ensure existing hires are cross privileged timely and coordinate with providers and hospital/office-based locations; complete reappointments timely.
  • Run weekly status reports on all providers pending privileges and provide privileging reports to upper management, site chiefs, and external departments.
  • Load and maintain privileging letters into the database and ensure data accuracy.

Position Requirements


Locums Privileging Specialist

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to manage multiple assignments in a challenging environment. The Privileging Specialist will report directly to the Supervisor, Privileging and Onboarding, and will be responsible for timely and accurate privileging of physicians and CRNAs within NAPA’s Locums program.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • To ensure new hires start timely and coordinate with onboarding specialist and hospital/office-based locations
  • To ensure existing hires are cross privileged timely and coordinate directly with the provider and hospital/office-based locations
  • Complete reappointments timely
  • Establish long term positive relationships with Medical Staff Offices
  • Send notifications communicating any estimated start date changes to onboarding specialist/site chiefs
  • Ensure accurate data of all privileging information and data entry into database
  • Submitting staff dues and other fees for approval and payment
  • Run weekly status report on all providers pending privileges
  • Provide privileging reports to upper management, site chiefs, and external departments
  • Responsible to attend virtual regional meetings, as required
  • Review daily exception reports to ensure and maintain database quality
  • Load and maintain privileging letters into database
  • Serve as a resource to internal departments, providers, and outside agencies
  • Responsible for monthly reporting, administrative duties, and other department projects as assigned

Qualification/Requirement:

  • Professional business sense and leadership skills
  • Strong knowledge of Privileging process
  • Ability to make sound decisions with limited supervision
  • Strong follow up, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to create and nurture a positive and productive work environment
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and transparent manner to staff and management
  • Aptitude for escalating appropriate issues and problems early in the process
  • Experience working with databases, and ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel & Word)

Education and/or Experience

  • College degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare or Medical Staff Office setting
  • 1+ years’ experience working in a healthcare credentialing or related environment
