Requirements:

  • Develop, implement, and manage strategic plans, policies, and operating plans for the Centro America cluster, coordinating with regional executives and stakeholders.
  • Set and drive cluster goals, monitor performance, oversee management, and ensure profitability and financial discipline.
  • Lead external engagement with industry leaders, airports, government authorities, and customers; build the company’s public profile and serve as the public face when required.
  • Foster a high-performing, compliant organization by mentoring teams, ensuring adherence to standards, and developing reporting tools to monitor continuous improvement.

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all strategic plans, company policies, operations and maintaining an open dialogue with stakeholders, and driving organizational success based on the growth strategy of the company within the respective cluster

Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1.   Provide strategic advice to regional & business lines executives and stakeholders.

2.   Establish company goals, aligned with the regional & business lines executives and stakeholder goals.

3.   Prepare long-term and short-term goals and company objectives for the respective cluster.

4.   Advise and participate in board and advise chairperson on their market and industry.

5.   Plan cost-effective business strategies for the respective cluster

6.   Develop new ideas based on market, industry and company growth strategy.

7.   Guide and maintain the performance of the company.

8.   Develop and implement strategic operating plans.

9.   Communicate company reports and achievements to the executives, stakeholders, and business partners.

10.  Manage financial investments and business ventures for the respective cluster.

11.  Provide effective leadership while fostering a motivating, high-performing environment for all team members in the respective cluster.

12.  Supervise performance of managers and supervisors within the respective cluster

13.  Provide the company and team members with a clear vision for future achievements.

14.  Ensure bottom-line profitability for the respective cluster.

15.  Support collections process as needed to facilitate healthy company cash management

16.  Emphasize, within the cluster, the importance of professional, timely and accurate communication in all forms including, but not limited to, reporting requirements, email responses, and voice message.  This applicable to both internal and external.

17.  Make certain any significant points of concern are raised to the appropriate process owner at the executive team level.  Again, modeling strong communication skills for all levels

18.  Develop reporting tools to monitor the ongoing performance of the company.

19.  Lead strategy for new development and clients

20.  Establish relationships with industry leaders and market experts, airports, government authorities, and customers.

21.  Build the company’s public profile image through networking, conferences, and speaking engagements.

22. Serve as the public face of the company when required.

23. Create growth pipelines in collaboration with Business Line Executives to support long-term expansion and profitability.

24. Work on team member engagement initiatives and support continuous improvement of the GCG corporate brand.

25. Ensure all operations across all business lines comply with corporate standards, procedures, and customer requirements.

Additional functions to be performed as needed:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local laws and regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards, policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Promote and ensure customer satisfaction through all company activities.
  • Support and participate in additional corporate initiatives or strategic projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Business, Business Administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience as international multi country/unit leader or related title, ideally in the Airline, Airline Catering, Catering, Food Service or Food Production industry, operations and logistics.
  • International business management experience, preferred with unions, collective agreements and labor laws
  • Up to date on the latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Familiar with corporate law and management best practices
  • Strong knowledge of the company, business, brand, and product; understanding of the company and its position in the market/industry
  • Ability to mentor and lead
  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.
  • Knowledge with budgetary and accounting functions
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Travel requirements

The position requires extensive domestic and international travelling, approximately 75% of the time.
