Job description

Our client is seeking to contract with a highly motivated Engineering and Design Processes Engineer (EDP) to support the Natrium team. Engineer serves as the primary interface between the client's established processes and the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) organization.

This role ensures that EPC engineering activities are aligned with the client's expectations, workflows, requirements, and governance. The EDP is responsible for mapping, interpreting, and communicating the client's processes to EPC engineering teams, identifying gaps, facilitating process adoption, and supporting EPC personnel as they navigate the client's procedures throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

Process Mapping & Integration

  • Analyze, interpret, and document the client's existing engineering and project execution processes.
  • Map client's processes to corresponding EPC engineering workflows to ensure alignment and compliance.
  • Identify areas where EPC processes diverge from client's requirements and propose integration or harmonization strategies.
  • Develop and maintain clear process documentation, flowcharts, and guidance materials.

EPC Support & Coordination

  • Serve as the subject-matter point of contact for EPC engineering teams regarding Owner processes and requirements.
  • Provide guidance, clarification, and troubleshooting support to EPC disciplines as they navigate Owner workflows.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions, process training, and onboarding for EPC engineering staff.
  • ·Monitor EPC adherence to Owner processes and escalate issues when needed.

Continuous Improvement & Governance

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of current process mappings and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives that involve both the client and EPC organizations.
  • Ensure process alignment with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project governance frameworks.
  • Track compliance, prepare reports, and support process audit activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering leads, project managers, QA/QC teams, document control, procurement, and construction stakeholders.
  • Act as the liaison between the client's process owners and EPC engineering leadership.
  • Facilitate workshops to resolve process ambiguities or conflicts between client's and EPC organizations.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Nuclear, or related field).
  • 6–10 years of experience in EPC project environments, preferably in the energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
  • Experience working directly with structured process frameworks (e.g., gated engineering processes, project lifecycle management, quality management systems).
  • Prior experience in process engineering, project engineering, or project management is highly preferred.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of EPC project execution phases (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning).
  • Familiarity with process mapping methodologies (e.g., BPMN, SIPOC, flowcharting).
  • Understanding of project governance, quality assurance, configuration management, and engineering work processes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering deliverables, specifications, and procedures.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Process-Oriented Thinking: Ability to analyze, optimize, and communicate complex workflows.
  • Communication & Facilitation: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach EPC teams and translate requirements clearly.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot process bottlenecks and provide practical solutions.
  • Collaboration: Effective at working across both Owner and EPC organizations, building strong relationships.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in process documentation and compliance tracking.
  • Adaptability: Able to manage process needs across multiple disciplines and changing project conditions.
  • Technical Writing: Skilled in preparing clear, concise process documents and guidance materials.
