🚀We’re Hiring: Privacy & Security Specialist (100% Remote)🚀

Seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Privacy and Security Specialist to enhance and maintain the security and privacy of all business platforms, CRMs, payment processes, and customer and employee personal data. This role is essential to protect sensitive information, ensure platform compliance, and maintain customer trust.

What You’ll Be Doing

Platform Security Management:

• Implement and maintain strong authentication protocols, including multi-factor authentication (MFA) for admin and employee accounts.
• Enforce role-based access controls (RBAC) to limit access to sensitive systems and data based on job responsibility.
• Monitor security logs and alerts to detect unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
• Regularly update and patch website CMS, plugins, payment gateways, and related software to eliminate vulnerabilities.

Data Protection & Privacy:

• Implement encryption of sensitive data both at rest and in transit (SSL certificates, AES-256 encryption, etc.).
• Develop and maintain data retention and disposal policies, ensuring secure deletion of data no longer needed.
• Maintain compliance with PCI-DSS standards for payment security and privacy regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, or CCPA, as applicable.

Payment Security:

• Oversee the security of payment processing platforms, ensuring tokenization, end-to-end encryption, and fraud detection tools are in place.

• Coordinate with payment gateway providers to maintain updated security certifications and compliance.

Security Audits & Penetration Testing:

• Schedule and conduct periodic vulnerability scans, penetration tests, and audits to proactively identify and address security gaps.
• Collaborate with external security consultants or ethical hackers for advanced penetration testing.

Incident Response & Training:

• Develop and maintain an incident response plan and lead response efforts for any suspected or actual breaches.

• Provide security awareness training to staff regarding password hygiene, phishing, data handling, and access protocols.

Continuous Monitoring & Improvement:

• Utilize real-time monitoring tools to oversee server logs, network traffic, and application access.
• Implement proactive alerts for suspicious activities and maintain a dashboard of security metrics.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 2-3 years of experience in privacy and security roles within e-commerce or digital business environments
• Strong working knowledge of MFA implementation and management across platforms
• Experience implementing and maintaining Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC) for enterprise systems
• Hands-on experience with encryption standards, including SSL/TLS certificates and AES-256 encryption for data at rest and in transit
• Demonstrated knowledge of PCI-DSS compliance requirements for payment security
• Experience with vulnerability scanning and security assessment tools
• Understanding of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, or HIPAA) and ability to implement compliant policies
• Experience in monitoring security logs, alerts, and detecting unauthorized access or suspicious activity
• Ability to develop and maintain incident response plans
• Experience conducting security awareness training for staff on phishing, password hygiene, and data handling protocols

Nice to Have Skills:

• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or CEH
• Experience coordinating with external security consultants or ethical hackers for advanced penetration testing
• Familiarity with tokenization and fraud detection tools for payment processing
• Experience with real-time monitoring dashboards and security metrics reporting
• Knowledge of SIEM platforms (Splunk, ELK Stack, Datadog)
• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP security configurations)
• Background in e-commerce platform security (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento)
• Experience with data retention and secure data disposal policies
