Functional overview

NerdWallet is seeking a driven Accounting Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will have an active role in the companys revenue accounting functions, which include reconciling revenue data, analyzing revenue trends, and performing month-end close activities. Were looking for a problem solver with strong attention to detail, who can bring their experience to NerdWallet to help build the foundation of our industry-defining accounting department.

Where you can make an impact:

• Collect and track customer reporting of revenue transactions
• Reconcile customer reporting against internal data
• Prepare revenue journal entries for your assigned business verticals
• Prepare revenue pacing models used by Accounting, FP&A, and Business Development teams
• Collaborate closely with Business Development to identify new partners, review pricing changes, and analyze monthly fluctuations
• Assist in the automation of revenue accounting processes
• Work closely with external auditors during audit by preparing requested information and addressing auditor inquiries
• Have an eye toward process improvement as we strive to improve efficiency at all levels
• Pick up projects and ad-hoc tasks as they arise

• Proactively thinking of ways to always improve the current process for better efficiency and accuracy

Your experience:

• Bachelors Degree, preferably in accounting or related field and 2-4 years of accounting experience
• CPA a strong plus
• High competency in Microsoft Excel a must
• Strong work ethic, professional attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn
• Experience working in a cross-functional environment with Oracle Cloud or equivalent ERP is a strong plus
• Experience in SQL is a plus, but not required; willingness to learn is a must
