Roles & Responsibilities

  • Founding AE or early sales hire with experience building or transitioning to sales without a finished playbook
  • Customer-obsessed with the ability to engage deeply with technically oriented audiences (infrastructure engineers and developers) and meet them where they are
  • Scientific mindset: values hypotheses, tests, measurements, and iteration; documents learnings and shares with the team
  • Technical enough to discuss infrastructure, APIs, and email deliverability; strong attention to craft and detail

  • Work high-intent inbound from enriched, segmented enterprise logos and high-growth companies
  • Build on existing playbooks, validate and iterate, and scale what works; run experiments across messaging, timing, and channels to find repeatability
  • Expand existing customers by identifying accounts that could benefit from higher tiers or additional products; prevent churn by distinguishing accounts worth saving from natural lifecycle churn
  • Be the voice of the customer internally by feeding learnings back to product, marketing, and success; document everything so the playbook the team builds on

Job description

Over 1M developers have used Resend, and we're onboarding hundreds of new paying customers every day. We've built enrichment and segmentation systems to identify high-value accounts across our inbound funnel.

Founder-led sales have closed enterprise deals. We've brought in experienced GTM help to build early infrastructure and playbooks. There's a foundation here - now we need someone to build on it.

This is a founding role. You'll take what exists, pressure-test it, expand it, and create our first repeatable sales motion.

In this role, you will…

  • Work high-intent inbound from enriched, segmented enterprise logos and high-growth companies

  • Build on existing playbooks - we have hypotheses and early wins; you'll validate, iterate, and scale what works

  • Run experiments across messaging, timing, and channels to find repeatability

  • Expand existing customers by identifying accounts that could benefit from higher tiers or additional products

  • Prevent churn by distinguishing accounts worth saving from natural lifecycle churn

  • Be the voice of the customer internally - feeding learnings back to product, marketing, and success

  • Document everything - your learnings become the playbook the team builds on

You’ll be a great fit if you…

  • You've built before. Founding AE, early sales hire, or transitioned from BizOps/RevOps/Success into sales. You know what it's like to operate without a finished playbook.

  • You're customer-obsessed. Genuinely curious about customers' problems. Comfortable working with deeply technical infrastructure engineers and newer developers alike. You meet people where they are.

  • You think like a scientist. Hypotheses, tests, measurements, iteration. You're trying to learn something with every conversation.

  • You document and share. Not a lone wolf. You write things down and make the whole team smarter from your work.

  • You're technical enough. You don't need to be a developer, but you can hold a credible conversation about infrastructure, APIs, and email deliverability.

  • You care about craft. You notice sloppy details. You believe sales can and should be done with the same care as great product.

  • You’re comfortable with travel. Conferences, prospect on-sites, team events and everything in between to help drive value to our users.
