Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced management consultant with strongexpertiseinSAP sourcing, S/4HANA transition programs, and evaluation of implementation partners. In this senior role, you will help clients prepare for their move from ECC to S/4HANA by shaping sourcing strategies, managing tender processes, assessing SI/implementation capabilities, and advising on commercial, contractual, and delivery risks.
You willoperateat the intersection of SAP program strategy and sourcing advisory–guiding clients through decisions that influence timelines, budgets, partner selection, delivery models, and long-term value realization. You will lead workstreams, engage closely with senior stakeholders, and support governance frameworks for SAP transformation journeys.
This role is ideal for professionals who understand SAP transformation from a business and sourcing perspective and want to help clients secure the right partners, commercial terms, and delivery structures for a successful S/4HANA migration.
Responsibilities
Lead client workstreams focused on sourcing implementation partners for ECCto SAPS/4HANA transitions.
Shape sourcing strategies covering SI selection, delivery models, operating models, and commercial structures.
Assess SAP S/4HANA implementation capabilities of global and regional SIs, including tools, accelerators, migration approaches, team composition, and quality frameworks.
Analyzecommercial proposals, benchmark rates, structure negotiation strategies, and support clients in securingfavorableterms.
Facilitate stakeholder workshops on S/4HANA program readiness, partner selection, governance models, and transformation risks.
Support clients in preparing business cases, transition roadmaps, milestone planning, and partner onboarding activities.
Coach junior consultants and ensure high-quality deliverables throughout sourcing engagements.
Contribute to proposals, SAP-related thought leadership, and ISG’s methodologies for SAP and S/4 sourcing.
Collaborate with international ISG teams (consulting, benchmarking, research) on large SAP transformation engagements.
Required Qualifications
5–8 years of experience in management consulting, SAP advisory, IT sourcing, or vendor/contract management.
Strong understanding of SAP ecosystems, ECC-to-S/4HANA transition challenges, andimplementationpartner delivery models.
Proven experience running sourcing or vendor evaluation processes for SAP or other major enterprise platforms (e.g., ERP, CRM, supply chain).
Ability to assess SI methodologies, migration approaches, resource structures, testing/quality frameworks, and transformation risk factors.
Strong commercial and analytical skills, including experience with rate benchmarks, TCO modeling, negotiation preparation, and contract structuring.
Confident engagement with CIOs, program directors, enterprise architects, and procurement leaders.
Excellent communication and presentation skills in German and English (C1+).
Hands-on, autonomous working style with experience mentoring junior consultants.
