  • Attend virtual trainings, content meetings, and invited committee review meetings

Council for Aid to Education, Inc. (CAE) is seeking Computer Science Assessment Content Developers.   Content Developers will be responsible for writing and/or editing high-quality, curriculum-aligned end-of-course assessment content (test questions and data sets) for High School STEM courses.

Subject-matter expertise in Computer Science, including:

  • Computer Science A
  • Computer Science Essentials
  • Computer Science Principles
  • Cybersecurity

Content Developers will work closely with the Lead Content Editor, the Program Manager, and other freelance Content Developers.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing scenario-based items in a variety of formats and at various levels of complexity using a modern item authoring platform
  • Becoming familiar with HS computer science course curriculum
  • Attending virtual trainings and periodic content meetings
  • Researching and creating data sets and scenarios for use in item sets
  • Following all assessment guidelines and specifications
  • Revising stimuli and items in response to editor and client feedback
  • Meeting deadlines
  • By invitation, participating in virtual or in-person committee review meetings

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field
  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience teaching STEM courses related to Computer Science at the High School level
  • Familiarity with STEM and CTE Computer Science standards and frameworks
  • Experience developing STEM assessments and/or curricula

 Scope: 

  • Exact start date and schedule to be determined, but the project is a multi-year project and the first phase will begin in March 2025 and run through end of June 2025 
  • Minimum 10-hour per week commitment 
  • Payment to be determined based on experience
