Job description

Real opportunities. Real impact. Your career, redefined.

(NOTE: A human reviews every application at Oceans, so please apply for only one position and only once a year—if you're a better fit for another role, we’ll route your application accordingly and if we’re not quite ready for you, we’ll reach back out later).

At Oceans, we help the best and brightest of Sri Lanka to take advantage of opportunities that otherwise wouldn’t be available to them, while supporting entrepreneurs around the world. Our community (we call them Divers) don’t do surface work—they go deep to solve complex challenges and make a real impact. And in doing so, they support bold ideas and expand their skills, broaden their expertise, and grow their careers, all without having to leave family and friends.

We’re hiring an FP&A Analyst to partner with a leading fractional finance and accounting services firm supporting high-growth consumer brands. This role will strengthen the internal finance function by managing recurring financial reporting, cash flow updates, and performance decks.

If you have strong analytical skills, enjoy working in structured financial environments, and take pride in accuracy and consistency, this role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a growing finance team serving multiple client portfolios.

Accountability

As an FP&A Analyst, your success will be defined by your ability to deliver accurate, timely, and well-structured financial reporting across a portfolio of clients. You’ll own weekly and monthly FP&A deliverables, ensuring all reports tie back to actuals and adhere to standards for precision and clarity.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

Reporting & Analysis

  • Update weekly cash flow models for 10–15 client accounts.
  • Compile monthly performance decks by integrating QuickBooks actuals into standardized templates.
  • Maintain consistent financial formatting and ensure data integrity across all deliverables.
  • Support the creation of budget templates and documentation of FP&A processes.
  • Perform initial variance analyses and prepare visual summaries for internal review.

Process & Workflow Management

  • Ensure all client-level data is accurate, formatted consistently, and completed on schedule.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to align financial reporting with actual results.
  • Identify and propose improvements to recurring reporting workflows.
  • Contribute to building process documentation for long-term scalability.

Colleagues

You’ll report directly to the FP&A Lead and collaborate with the broader finance and accounting team to ensure reporting consistency and data accuracy across multiple clients.

At Oceans, you’ll also receive guidance and support from our Operations Manager, who will help you succeed in the role and ensure that you’re continuously growing and developing in your career.

Skills & Qualifications

At Oceans, we believe in T-shaped individuals — those who bring deep expertise in one area, paired with broad curiosity and interests. As an FP&A Analyst, your vertical strength will be financial reporting and data management, while your horizontal strengths will include analytical thinking, process improvement, and communication.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Experience: 3–5 years in FP&A, accounting, or financial reporting.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency (data linking, modeling, and formatting).
  • Tools: Familiarity with QuickBooks for extracting and integrating actuals.
  • Reporting: Strong ability to compile and maintain PowerPoint-based performance decks.
  • Attention to Detail: Proven ability to ensure accuracy and consistency across recurring deliverables.
  • Communication: Clear, professional written and verbal English skills.
  • Mindset: Analytical, process-driven, and dependable.

Bonus skills:

  • Experience supporting multiple client accounts in a fractional or agency setting.
  • Exposure to consumer goods, retail, or eCommerce finance environments.
  • Familiarity with automation or dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, Google Sheets scripting).

Diversity of experience is core to Oceans. You are expected to work inclusively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, ensuring that both personal and collective dignity are supported.

During the interview process, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your skills in the following areas:

  • Financial Reporting: How you’ve maintained accuracy and consistency across multiple client accounts.
  • Excel Mastery: Examples of modeling, linking, and formatting for complex datasets.
  • Variance Analysis: How you’ve interpreted results and summarized insights visually.
  • Workflow Efficiency: How you’ve improved or streamlined recurring reporting cycles.
  • Collaboration: How you’ve worked across teams to align accounting data with FP&A reporting.

Role Specifications

This is a remote role, where you will be expected to work a split shift with some overlap with our client’s time zone. You will, however, be expected to be present for in-person training programs during your first 90 days with us. During the offer process, we’ll share more information about our benefits and compensation philosophy, considering both market trends and individual factors.
